Flowers by themselves are beautiful. Something to look at and admire, smell and adore. There is a certain delicate strength, poetic elegance and timeless elegance that comes with flowers. They are such a big part of weddings and festivities for so many reasons, but least of which the way the elegant an occasion. Flowers also inspire and for two designers from fall fashion week, their 2024 collections were inspired by flowers.
In this article: |
Drawing from the quiet elegance of nature, the Dreams by Lihi Hod "Petals" collection is an homage to the delicate beauty of flowers. Each piece is a testament to the evocative power of floral allure, capturing the essence of their timeless charm. Just as a flower blooms with delicate strength, petal by petal, the Dreams 2024 collection embodies a beauty that is exquisite in its simplicity, devoid of vanity and superfluous embellishments.
Influenced by her mother’s lifelong love of flowers, Mariela Torres Soucy created the fall 2024 collection “Anthophilia”.
“Anthophilia is a tribute to my life with her and the beauty she creates through nature and the language of flowers. Pure in form and sophisticated in volume, Anthophilia echoes my deep respect for workmanship and the richness of hand-executed painting, embroidery, and draping techniques. Intricate details and combined with the richest materials, from chiffon to crepe, tulle overlays, lace, and silk faille,” Soucy shares. “The softness, delicacy, and transitory nature of blooms rendered in shades of pale rose, lilac, and hints of fresh lime green. Immersed in the lungs of my homeland, Caracas, this special campaign explores the beauty of flowers through a collection that is artfully poetic, timelessly elegant and forever modern.”

]]>Maggie Sottero Designs has launched an international, company-wide sustainability effort and we cannot be more excited about it. Now they offer beautiful designs and a commitment to our planet!
The third-generation family-owned company stands for LOVE and love for ALL — including Mother Earth, which is why they are committed to creating a more sustainable future for the next generation and beyond.
They tell us they are on a mission to learn best practices, reduce their environmental impact and restore vital ecosystems, from Maggie’s beloved birthplace, Australia, to the Great Salt Lake Region they call home. They’re reimagining everything they do with a regenerative, future-facing view. The Maggie family is committed to being the change, disrupting the standard, and creating the future to ensure their brides’ love stories — and our planet — endure. #disruptthestandard
"The viability of our future is predicated on us re-imagining all that we do. As a leader in bridal fashion, we have a responsibility to be the change agent for you, our brides, our family and community, and our planet. Systemic changes have and will continue to be made within Maggie, but we all must work together," says CEO and Creative Director Kelly Midgley.
Maggie Sottero Designs is working as quickly as they can to reduce their environmental impact, taking ambitious action in three key areas: Waste Reduction, Resource Consumption, and Biodiversity Protection.
As a company, Maggie is recycling everything possible, as efficiently as possible, from bulk shipping waste to diverting stock from landfills. By the numbers:
Maggie is working to become a regenerative brand by supporting renewable power projects, reducing product impact, and investing in the circular supply chain. They are reimagining textile resource consumption, reducing fabric usage, and scaling up lower-impact materials in our collections. And if that’s not enough, through their Blue Sky Visionary partnership with Rocky Mountain Power, Maggie is reducing its annual carbon footprint by an estimated 154,000 pounds of CO2 a year.
And by investing in the circular textile supply chain through their partnership with the Avena Group, 2,630 pounds of excess gown stock will be recycled into new fibers or products. Moving forward, Maggie is transitioning to post-consumer recycled content shipping boxes in all our warehouses.
Maggie supports company-wide volunteer efforts in communities and habitats near our Scope 1 facilities and location shoots.
Maggie backs efforts to support healthy ecosystems globally and near our Scope 1 facilities, and by partnering with One Tree Planted, per-gown donations are directed to regional projects worldwide in honor of every Maggie Sottero bride. So now, you can be the change, too just by being a Maggie Sottero bride!
They are also working in collaboration with International Bird Rescue and Friends of Great Salt Lake on wildlife habitat conservation in Maggie's home state of Utah and are offsetting 100% of business flights in a partnership with Cool Effect, supporting conservation and restoration projects to reduce carbon emissions.
“We are rising to meet this critical moment for people and the planet. We’re implementing systems change throughout our organization, embedding sustainability as a core directive for every team. We are working as quickly as possible to reduce our environmental impact,” says Global Sustainability Director and Designer Patricia DeLaunay.

]]>The wedding planning industry is seeing many exciting changes of late, closing or narrowing many gaps that have been in existence for far too long, and among them is an environmental consciousness. What do we mean? The wedding planning process is now making room for more sustainable choices. We’ve seen venues taking on missions to reduce their footprint, select decor or invitations being swapped out for more sustainable materials, but most excitingly one of our beloved designers is now making a commitment to our planet. Extra points if you know who we’re talking about, but if not, we’ll tell you anyway — Maggie Sottero Designs. In fact, I remember the first time I was in a bridal shop and pulled a dress from the rack; it was a Maggie Sottero gown and it was magnificent! I was in love and knew this was my passion — weddings and fashion. If I wasn’t already obsessed with Maggie before, then once I heard they broke the mold with their new goals this year, I knew I would’ve been because it’s a focus not addressed nearly enough.
Learn more: Maggie Sottero Debuts New Sustainability Initiatives
Of course, our team had to dig a little deeper and get with Maggie Sottero for more information on more sustainable wedding dress options, so we connected with Patricia DeLaunay, the Global Sustainability Director of Maggie Sottero Designs. And now we’re sharing everything we learned about lower impact wedding dresses and materials with you!
Let’s start with the materials, a natural starting point when thinking about wedding dresses. DeLaunay shares that couples looking for more sustainable materials for their wedding attire would look to materials that are plant-based or made with recycled fibers. For plant-based, we’re talking organic cotton or linen, and when it comes to fabrics made with recycled fibers, we’re talking those in which help support a circular supply chain, she explains.
“For example, [at Maggie Sottero Designs],” DeLaunay says, “we’ve introduced recycled polyester produced from post-consumer plastic waste rather than virgin resources. The fabric creation process has quite an impact, too; that’s why we’re also leveraging yarn-dyed materials, where our mill partner has achieved a greater reduction in water and energy usage compared to standard methods!”
DeLaunay tells us there’s no official approved standard for describing a gown as more “sustainable”. Indeed, the wearer “should expect a sustainable wedding dress to feature materials with a lower impact on the planet and production processes that aim to minimize environmental harm, [but] another element of sustainability is the quality of a garment; is it well-made, and, therefore, will it have longevity?
“In the case of a wedding gown, can another bride inherit it? A gown already in existence, whether hanging in a boutique or vintage shop, is also considered a more sustainable option,” she points out.
Now one way to know if a dress is more sustainable or has a lower impact is to look to see if the dress (or designer) is GRS certified — which certainly takes the guesswork out of it. DeLaunay explains that GRS certification is when certain, specific criteria is met according to the Global Recycled Standard. A dress can be GRS certified if the garment “‘meets specific criteria for using recycled materials in its production, ensuring a certain level of environmental sustainability. The certification requires the dress to contain a minimum percentage of recycled materials and adhere to social and environmental criteria throughout its entire supply chain. To obtain GRS certification, a designer must work with suppliers that meet these standards, provide evidence of material origin, and undergo a verification process by an accredited certification body to ensure compliance with GRS guidelines.’”
Now while Maggie Sottero Designs is admittedly not yet certified as a brand, DeLaunay shares, “We’re doing our best to respect guidelines set by certification bodies like the GRS!” And so she tells us that couples will see Maggie using a number of GRS-certified materials in the Spring 2024 collection. Maggie Sottero has also partnered with the non-profit One Tree Planted to plant a tree in honor of every Maggie Bride.
Don't miss the new Maggie Sottero Spring Collections debuting on October 10th, 2023! Can’t wait to see it all?! Neither can we, and as soon as we get a preview, we promise to share it with you!

]]>Lovies, you aren’t going to believe this, but we’ve got the details on a true GL Cinderella tale. One lucky shopper discovered a Galia Lahav wedding gown at their local Goodwill! The find only cost her $25, but had a $6,000 value. Hello, that’s a serious find!
It was the most extraordinary surprise for Emmali Osterhoudt when a trip to her local Goodwill store in Birmingham, Alabama turned into a Cinderella moment IRL for her. A hidden gem that awaited her was the G-207 dress from GALA by Galia Lahav Collection 7. It was an enchanting fitted mermaid dress made of embroidered, hand-beaded lace with translucent side, and the gown fit Osterhoudt like a dream, as if it was made just for her! What could be better, truly?!
The discovery not only speaks to the shopper’s incredible luck, but also underscores the appeal of couture wedding dresses by Galia Lahav. Even in the pre-owned market, these sought-after dresses can fetch prices upwards of $4,000. So while Osterhoudt isn't planning a wedding right now, she excitedly shared her find with her boyfriend, Nick, who is just as thrilled about the discovery of a $6,000 dress for a mere $25. It’s a reminder that sometimes, life’s surprises can be as beautiful as the dress itself.
And if you love a good surprise, then you’ll love this — the whole moment, that went viral on social media, has caused Galia Lahav to contact Goodwill to donate dresses so more future GL Cinderellas can be surprised!

]]>This spring, as the grand finale of the Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week (BBFW), Atelier Pronovias (the haute couture bridal brand of Pronovias Group) showcased the new “Seasons of Light” collection for 2024 and we have been in love with the styles ever since. So today we’re bringing you an inside look from the runway so you can see the spectacular journey the brand took attendees on — through the four seasons with inspiration from the seasons and natural elements.
The most impactful moment was when the top and international model Blanca Padilla opened the show and the ex-Victoria’s Angel Secret, Sara Sampaio, closed with a big matrioska that seemed like a flower and inside was an incredible and sexy jumpsuit with a full pearl fabric.
Alessandra Rinaudo, Artistic Director of Pronovias Group, presented the new 2024 collection, saying, “We made a deep dive into new fabrics, challenged ourselves with new techniques and constructions to craft unique modern dresses for modern brides. We want to make sure every bride has a magical experience and red carpet oriented.”
For some designs, Rinaudo went for sensual gowns with intricate hand-crafted 3D blossoms and blooming appliques enriched with Swaroski and stones, reflecting the of-the-minute floral trends adorning celebrities on red carpets worldwide. They give off major springtime vibes.
Meanwhile, in others, there’s a certain respect for the freedom of movement and spirit. Unprecedented transparencies and sexy cut-outs are combined with delicate lace and beaded embroidery for a subtle sensual elegance. This gives us some summertime vibes, or even a breezy autumn vibe.
And then there’s the designs that scream more is more, with statement gowns inspired by natural architectural shapes, dramatic volumes and striking structures — all customizable to bring out the beauty of anybody. Perhaps one could say there’s a bit of winter in those. . . .
Regardless of which design you migrate to, the “Seasons of Light” collection is full of innovation — all developed at the heart of the Pronovias R&D center in Barcelona. In particular, some of the new fabric innovations developed by Rinaudo and her team include: Italian soft micro crepe, hand-made crystal fringe cascades, pure French silk faille, exclusive hand-beaded embroidery. And if that’s not enough they also upped the ante with new pleated sewing techniques and precision 3D printing development.
Whatever season and style a bride identifies with, she is sure to discover the perfect creation to reflect her spirit and dreams in this collection. Every dress from Atelier Pronovias is custom-made and customizable. So every bride can have a true haute couture experience and discover the wedding dress of her dreams.
In line with the Pronovias Group’s commitment to inclusivity, a range of real-world models was cast to reflect the diversity of brides. Models with different ethnicities, ages and body types brought out the wide variety of dresses and accessories that give our brides their total look.
The Atelier Pronovias “Seasons of Light” collection will be available in stores in mere days. For now, here are more designs from the collection.

We’ve seen it before — brides who dare to walk down the aisle in a hue that is neither ivory, cream, nor white. In recent years, blush and pinks have been popular. Buttt in 2023 we saw the emergence of black and red, both of which Maggie Sottero Designs was bold enough to use in their designs. Take, for example, Aspen and Zander Lane. Now they bring us more black and a color we can only describe as Cinderella blue.
We’ve seen a steady rise in the popularity of saying “I do” in patterned dresses for the past few years. But this year the ante has been upped with so many designers embracing bold prints and we can’t get enough of it. Especially these new looks from Maggie Sottero Designs. P.S. If you also can’t get enough of it either, we’ve got an entire two-page spread dedicated to this in the upcoming issue of Celebrate Weddings Magazine dropping in 21 days.
These are not your momma’s ruffles! These ruffles are understated yet elegant, added to draw attention without distracting.
Oversized bows may just be yesterday because notice how this trend capitalizes on the unique shape and form of a woman’s body, not to become the statement, but rather make a statement. Either way, we are all about the use of bows!
With minimalist detailing it’s more about the understated. These dresses allow you to play with various bridal accessories, whether bridal opera gloves or statement jewelry.
When will thigh high slits not be a trend?! They’re simply fabulous! They allow you to be playfully sexy and the best version of yourself while teetering that line of modesty.
Maggie Sottero Designs certainly kicked off this trend in 2023, but with these new looks they’re reaching a new level. Just look at the floral detailing. So delicate yet so beautiful.
An absolutely new look for fall 2023 that we’ve neither seen before nor can get enough of!
We’ve seen high necklines before, but what makes these unique is that they’re paired with sleeveless dress. It takes a modern spin on a traditional look.

]]>Andrea Serrano
]]>You’re probably thinking fashion stylists are for celebrities, the red carpet, or fashion week. You’re right and wrong (sry, lovey, can’t win ‘em all). Stylists are becoming more and more popular at weddings. Now, we’re not saying to go hire yourself a stylist for your day-to-day because the budgeting on that would be immense, but we’re not saying not to… But it’s totally worth it to account for a stylist in your wedding budget at the very least! That’s why we spoke with stylist, Andrea Serrano, to dish on who should hire a stylist, and styling advice for your wedding look.
But, first, a look back at some of the great celebrity weddings of our time that *seriously* brought the fashion (and beauty) and are the reason we know putting a little extra into it is totally worth it. It was Victoria Beckham’s 1999 wedding in her beautiful Vera Wang that caught our attention and had us rethinking fashion. Then Keyshia Ka'Oir's 2017 wedding was oh so glamorous (we could’ve sworn it was the official definition of glamor) that we couldn’t get over the beauty, the fashion, and the look! Of course, 2018 was THE year. Hello, this was the year of, not only Priyanka Chopra’s wedding (her custom Ralph Lauren dress was everything), but it was also the year of Meghan Markle’s wedding. Need we say more? Her wedding was literally fit for royalty (obviously) and her dress and veil were exceptional. It was impossible to look away from the screen. And, more recently, in 2021 Ariana Grande’s wedding where she wore an elegant and stylish custom Vera Wang dress (notice that). Plus, that veil is one we cannot stop obsessing over. The bow was the perfect addition. Now, do you see what we’re talking about? Your look matters! It might not appear in People or on the cover of Vogue, but looking through those photographs in years to come, you’ll FEEL like a celebrity and that’s what counts.
Serrano suggests couples that “have decision fatigue and are overwhelmed with the process of styling their outfits” hire a stylist. A few questions she suggests you ask yourself, if you’re on the fence about working with one:
If you’re screaming yes, yes, and yes, then it’s time you ripped the Band-Aid off and turned to a stylist because they can help.
While it’s not traditional, Serrano says you may choose to “hire a stylist to shop for [all of your wedding events].” Although, this is relatively new but “sometimes necessary for a bride that has a busy schedule and has a budget to spend.” And when we say “all of your wedding events” we mean every single one of them — bridal shower, bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner, after party, you name it and they can help you.
Before you can determine your wedding look, it’s important to discover what it is you don’t want, so narrowing it down to what you do want is that much easier. Serrano recommends starting with a Pinterest board so everyone is on the same page.
Before you can even shop for a dress, you probably want to consider the styles that are trending. Being trendy might not be the most important thing, but knowing them will certainly help you figure things out.
Serrano talks about the trends she’s been seeing lately in wedding fashion, many of the same we’ve talked about — “3D flowers, off-the-shoulder, mini to ball gown length, sheer, bows, capes, and color.” We love every single one of these trends and know (if you haven’t already starting flipping through magazines for dresses or pinning your fave ones to a board) that you’re going to be obsessed with all these trends, too. Trust us, it’s not easy to find the ONE dress you love. That’s why we suggest, if it’s in your budget, you look to having a dress change from your ceremony to reception. And if it’s not in your budget, then dresses with detachable elements might just be the way to go. Many designers have been including convertible dresses in their collections. (WONÁ Concept is sorta big when it comes to this.)
Now, trends change all the time (seriously, we’re always talking about new trends) so if you’re not sure what’s trending, just follow us because we’re really up on the latest fashion trends and we are all over NYBFW where the trends are happening!
But as we said, if going the trendy route isn’t your thing and you’re looking to be more timeless in your approach, that’s cool. In fact, Serrano just recommends a “duchess satin” fabric for your dress. This soft, luxurious fabric is all the rage and never goes out of style. Two examples of dresses made with duchess satin: Margaret by Galia Lahav and Cadence by Pronovias.
Another pro tip: Serrano recommends a bustle if you have a train.
You might be thinking “undergarments, but I don’t want a bra cup or seam showing.” No. One. Does. That’s why Serrano says a seamless thong is always the right choice. Additionally, if your dress has a backless design, then she tells us, “silicone cups work great and tape is good if you need extra support.”
However, you don’t want any wardrobe surprises on your wedding day, which is why Serrano urges you to “make sure you try on your dress with your undergarments before the big day so everything looks seamless.” After all, as she tells us, “feeling confident in your dress starts with what you’re wearing underneath.” And well, we couldn’t agree more!
Frosting is very important. We mean, accessorizing yourself, of course. What, you didn’t think we were talking about cake, did you? No, adding accessories to your ensemble is key, because the ones you choose can make or break your look. And it’s all about the style of the dress you choose. If you select a strapless style, “you could wear a necklace or a bold pair of earrings,” and for a high-neck design, Serrano says, stick to earrings.
And if you’re not sure where to start with accessories, start here.
Are you ready for this dress care advice? Because this sort of advice should be put on a sticky note and placed on your vanity or something, it’s that golden. “Having everything set a week in advance would be ideal,” Serrano tells us when discussing steam cleaning your attire and veil. Quick, put it in your reminders!
Notice the use of the word steam — we are not talking dry heat. Steaming your dress should be done on the lowest setting and done with the dress inside out. For satin dresses, you’re going to want to make sure you lay a thin cotton cloth on top of the satin so there’s no direct contact. And you should always start small with an area that’s hidden from view.
Another idea that we’ve heard has been to ditch the steamer or iron all together, and simply let your gown hang in your bathroom while you’re taking a hot shower — be sure to close the door, and by the time you’re all done you should be able to run a cotton cloth or glove over the fabric to ensure no wrinkles remain.
And for your post-wedding dress care needs, we’ve got you covered with cleaning and care tips for your dress.
Sometimes weather isn’t always a deciding factor when it comes to your wedding dress style. In fact, it’s common that it’s not considered at all, and if it is it’s ignored. So if you’re set on a strapless or sleeveless dress for your wedding and fear freezing, then there’s a solution (and it’s super chic… what, you didn’t expect anything less than chic advice from a stylist, did you?).
Uhh, the dreaded “champagne spilled on your dress” mishap is the worst! And what if you get a makeup smear on your dress? Oh, we can’t even think about the horror. Although, don’t completely panic (although, maybe panic a little because it’s your dress!) because Serrano tells us, you can use “club soda, baby wipes, [or] Tide wipes” to remedy a champagne stain or makeup smear.
But where would you get those products? Hello, that’s what your emergency kit is for. In it you should carry products for unplanned wardrobe mishaps; for instance, Serrano says you should also pack, “double stick tape, safety pins, anti-wrinkle spray, and a needle and thread.”
Want to know what else you should be packing in your emergency kit? It’s all here.

So you don’t want to kiss off your lip, I get it and I've got you covered! Let's dive into some amazing options that'll keep your pout picture-perfect all day long.
First up, we have matte liquid lipsticks. These bad boys are known for their staying power and minimal transfer. Once they dry down, they stay put for hours, even through munching, sipping, and smooching. Look out for formulas that shout "long-lasting" and "transfer-resistant" to lock in that fabulous color.
Next on our list is lip stain. These gems are all about long-lasting color that clings to your lips. With their lightweight, watery texture, they dry down to a stain, giving you a natural or muted lip look that won't smudge easily. So go ahead, plant that passionate wedding kiss without worrying about leaving any marks on your sweetheart.
If you prefer a soft and effortless vibe, lip tints are your go-to option. These lovelies offer a sheer and lightweight wash of color that stains your lips beautifully. Rosegold and Romantic Shimmer and Matte Longwear Lipcolor
When choosing your long-lasting lip product, remember to consider factors like comfort, hydration, and the finish you desire. Some long-wearing formulas can be a tad drying, so prep your lips with a good exfoliator and hydrating lip balm before application. And don't forget add a lip pencil and to lightly blot with a single ply tissue for extra staying power.

Lip primers are an essential part of avoiding the dreaded lip stain, but there’s so much more you can do. Are you ready for this?
Before you even think about applying any lip product, make sure to exfoliate your lips to get rid of any dry or flaky skin. Smooth lips make for a flawless canvas, and they reduce the chances of color settling into any uneven areas. Keep your pout hydrated by using a lip balm or a hydrating lip treatment regularly in the days leading up to your wedding.
Picture this: a superhero cape, but for your lips. Applying a lip primer or a light layer of foundation or concealer before your liquid lipstick can create a barrier between your lips and the product. This little trick helps prevent staining and makes it easier to remove the lipstick later. Plus, it gives your lip color an extra boost!

So it’s definitely worth adding to your makeup routine if you're aiming for long-lasting and flawless lip color. Hello, it can be a game-changer! But as with everything, there’s some pros and cons….
Lip primers create a smooth and even base for your lip products to stick to. This helps them last longer and prevents feathering or bleeding. Plus, it makes the color pop, so it looks more true to its shade.
Lip primers fill in those fine lines and wrinkles on your lips, giving you a super smooth canvas to work with. This is especially great when you're using matte or liquid lipsticks that tend to emphasize any imperfections. Say hello to a flawless finish!
Want your lip color to really stand out? Lip primers can intensify the color payoff of your chosen lip product. They create a blank canvas on your lips, so the true color shines through without any interference from your natural lip color.
Lip primers act as a barrier between your lips and the lip product, making it last longer. No more worrying about your color fading, smudging, or transferring throughout the day. Your lips will stay on point!
Adding a lip primer means an extra step in your makeup routine. If you're all about keeping things minimal or saving time, this might not be your thing. But trust me, and the benefits can outweigh the extra time spent.
Lip primers may not be essential for everyone. If your lips are naturally smooth without excessive lines or dryness, or if you're using lip products that already have excellent longevity, you may not need a lip primer. Some makeup artists do a thin layer of face makeup or concealer to prime the lips, or they blot a lip pencil applied to the entire lip before applying lipstick.
So, my advice is to give lip primers a try before your big day or maybe for a long night out. Experiment with different lip primers and lip prep tips to see how they enhance the wear and appearance of your lip products. That way, you can decide if it's a step worth taking for you.
Sugar Smoothing Lip Primer Advanced Therapy
When it's time to apply your liquid lipstick, start with thin layers and build up the color gradually. Let each layer dry before adding the next one. This technique ensures an even application and reduces the chances of excess product clinging to your lips, which can lead to staining. Remember, patience is key!
A lip liner is like the secret weapon in your bridal beauty arsenal. Choose a liner that matches your liquid lipstick shade and use it to outline your lips. This not only creates a defined lip shape but also prevents the color from bleeding or smudging. Bonus tip: Fill in your lips with the liner before applying your liquid lipstick to create an extra base layer and amp up the staying power.
And if you still find yourself dealing with a stubborn lip stain, fear not! You have a few tricks up your sleeve. Try using a gentle lip scrub or a damp cloth to lightly exfoliate your lips. Another option is to use a makeup remover specifically designed for long-wearing or waterproof products. Just apply it to a cotton pad and gently wipe away the stain.

It’s National Lipstick Day, lovies! Let’s celebrate in true lipstick style and get right to it with everyone’s favorite topic: finding your color! And don’t worry we’ve got plenty to say on the topic of red lipstick, plus tips for making it last longer and lipstick trial-runs (yes, that’s a total thing !).
Now it is National Lipstick Day after all, so let’s just assume you’re going to rock the classic lipstick. Here’s everything you need to know about finding your right lip color.
Think about your skin tone and undertones. Blush pinks are a great match for fair to medium skin tones with cool undertones. On the other hand, nudes are like chameleons and can rock any skin tone, from fair to deep.
Consider the overall vibe you want to slay on your special day. Blush pinks bring a touch of romance and a subtle burst of color to your makeup, while nudes give you that effortlessly elegant and natural look. Don't forget to consider your dress style, wedding theme, and especially your floral colors.
Make sure your lipstick color plays well with the rest of your makeup. Take a moment to think about the shades of your blush, eyeshadow, and overall color palette. It's all about that harmonious makeup symphony, lovey!
Rose Gold Bridal Makeup Collection
So, you're thinking about rocking some red lipstick on your wedding day? Lovey, that's a fabulous choice! Red lipstick can totally bring the glamour and sophistication to your look. But, hold up! There are a few things you should know to make sure you bring that red lip game. Let's break it down:
First things first, finding the right shade is key. You want a red that flatters your skin tone and undertones. Fair to medium babes, go for blue-based reds, while medium to deep skin tones can rock orange-based reds. Experiment with different shades to find your perfect match!
Now, let's talk finish. Matte lipsticks give you that timeless, classic look that won't budge. But if you want a little shine, satin or gloss finishes are your go-to.
For all our lipstick lovin’ lovies, Wedding Day Match x Alayne Curtiss Bridal Beauty has an Instagram Giveaway you won’t want to miss — now through July 30, 2023, 11:59:59 PM EST.
Don't forget about lip liner! Use a liner in the same shade as your lipstick to define and shape those gorgeous lips of yours. It'll prevent smudging and give you a precise application.
Now, let's talk balance. When you're wearing a bold red lip, keep the rest of your makeup more neutral. Focus on enhancing your eyes with soft eyeshadows, luscious lashes, and maybe a thin winged liner if you're feeling extra sassy. You want everything to work together like a dream.
Don't go overboard with the rest of your makeup. You want your red lips to be the star, so keep the eye makeup more subdued. Balance is the name of the game here, creating an elegant and cohesive look.
Don't forget to prep those lips! Red lipstick loves attention, so give your lips some love. Exfoliate beforehand to get rid of any dry or flaky skin, and moisturize to keep them smooth and hydrated.
And finally, don't forget those touch-ups! Even if you choose a long-wearing formula, it's always a good idea to have your lipstick and lip liner on hand for quick touch-ups throughout the day. You'll want your lip color to stay fresh and vibrant for those stunning wedding photos.
Bridal Beauty Kits “Broadway” Lipstick
So, here are some fabulous tips to help you make that lipstick last from “I do” to the last dance!
First, let's give your lips some extra TLC. Start by exfoliating them a couple of days before the big day to get rid of any dry or flaky skin. Then, keep those lips hydrated with a nourishing lip balm. Trust us, well-prepped lips make all the difference in how your lipstick looks and lasts.
Next, grab yourself a lip primer. This little gem works wonders! Apply it before your lipstick to create a smooth canvas and enhance the color payoff. It'll also make sure your lip color stays put and doesn't feather, smudge, or fade. Lip primers are like superheroes for your pout!
Now, let's talk about lip liner. Get yourself a liner that matches your lipstick shade or is slightly darker. Outline and fill in your lips with it. This trick not only defines your lip shape but also prevents color bleeding. Plus, it provides a fantastic base for your lipstick to cling to. Fill in those lips, lovies!
Layering is the secret sauce for long-lasting lipstick. Apply a layer of lipstick, then gently blot with a tissue. Repeat this process by applying a second layer for a more intense pop of color. After that, take another tissue and give your lips a gentle blot to remove any excess product. Now, here's the cherry on top: dust a thin layer of translucent setting powder over your lips through a single ply tissue. It'll set the color and make it last even longer. Boom!
When it comes to lipstick selection, go for the long-wearing superheroes of the makeup world. Look out for keywords like "long-lasting," "smudge-proof," or "transfer-resistant" on those lipstick labels. Matte liquid lipsticks, lip stains, or long-wearing cream lipsticks are the champions you need. They'll stay put like loyal allies throughout your special day.
Now, we all know touch-ups are sometimes inevitable, no matter how hard we try. That's why it's essential to have a little touch-up kit on hand. Fill it with your chosen lipstick, lip liner, blotting papers, and a compact mirror. Take a breather during the day to refresh your lip color, blot away any excess oil, and keep that vibrant look going strong.
Oh, and here's a pro tip: try to avoid oily or greasy foods that might put your lipstick at risk. Take small bites, use a straw when sipping your favorite drinks, and be mindful of any lip smudging. We want your lip color to last, and these little tricks will help you make it happen.
Lastly, always choose lip products that make you feel comfortable, confident, and absolutely beautiful on your special day. Before the wedding, do a trial run to test the longevity of your chosen lip products. This way, you can make any necessary adjustments and ensure they meet your expectations. You're going to rock that lipstick, gorgeous!
So, there you have it, stunners! Follow these tips, and your lipstick will be the last thing you'll need to worry about on your wedding day. Now go out there, say "I do" with confidence, and have the time of your life! Cheers to love, happiness, and long-lasting lip color!
Why should you bother with a trial run, you ask? Well, it's simple. Trying out your lipstick beforehand lets you see how it holds up throughout the day. You'll know if it lasts long enough to keep you looking fabulous from "I do" to the last dance. Plus, you can make any necessary adjustments to ensure your lips stay fresh and vibrant.
Pick a shade and formula that tickle your fancy. Matte, satin, glossy — go for whatever floats your boat. Just remember to consider factors like color, finish, and how long it lasts.
Start by exfoliating your lips to get rid of any dry or flaky skin. Then, apply a hydrating lip balm and let it sink in for a few minutes and blot.
Swipe on the lipstick using your preferred technique. Pay attention to how it feels, the color payoff, and how it looks on your lips. You want to make sure it's love at first sight!
Go about your usual activities and see how the lipstick holds up. Check for any fading, feathering, or smudging. Notice if it's comfortable to wear or if it leaves your lips feeling dry.
Keep an eye on how long the lipstick stays intact and vibrant. Does it survive eating, drinking, and other activities without losing its color? And, let's not forget, does it leave marks on your cups or your partner's cheek?
If needed, perform some touch-ups during your trial run. See how easy it is to fix any imperfections and if the lipstick layers well without looking cakey.
At the end of the day, take a good look at the lipstick's overall performance. Think about its longevity, comfort, color intensity, and whether it matches your wedding day vision.
Based on your trial-run, you can make any necessary adjustments. Maybe you'll switch to a different formula or shade, use a lip liner or primer for better staying power, or include some extra touch-up strategies in your wedding day plan.
Doing a trial run gives you confidence in your lipstick choice. It ensures that you'll be rocking the perfect pout on your special day. So, take this opportunity to troubleshoot any potential issues and make any adjustments needed to achieve that flawless, long-lasting lip look you've been dreaming of.
XOXO,
Alayne

Earlier today we took you through the differences in lipsticks, liquid lipsticks, glosses, and more. But one product deserves so much attention we’re doing a deep dive for you — yes, you know what we’re talking about: lip liners. With so much to know about lining those lips of yours, we’re going to take you through everything you need to know. So get ready to pucker up! 💋
Lip liner is your BFF when it comes to outlining and defining your lip shape. It gives you clean, precise edges, enhances your lip contour, and stops your lip color from misbehaving and going outside the lines. You can use lip liner before or after applying lipstick, totally up to you!
Want your lip color to last all day? Use lip liner as a base by filling in your entire lip. This magical trick helps your lip color stick around longer and gives you a more even application. Plus, it amps up the color intensity. Hello, luscious lips!
Get ready to play mixologist! Lip liner can be used to tweak and customize your lip color. Grab a liner in a slightly different shade than your lipstick or gloss and create an ombré effect, add dimension, or adjust the undertones. You're the artist, lovey!
No one's perfect, right? Lip liner to the rescue! If you want to fix minor asymmetries or reshape your lips, lip liner can work wonders. A little overlining or underlining in strategic spots can create the illusion of a more balanced shape. But remember, subtlety is key, we don’t want to go overboard!
Now, here's the scoop: lip liner isn't always a must. If you're going for a casual, au naturale lip look, feel free to skip it. But for special occasions like weddings where you want your lip color to shine and last, lip liner is your secret weapon for a polished and long-lasting pout.
For all our lipstick lovin’ lovies, Wedding Day Match x Alayne Curtiss Bridal Beauty has an Instagram Giveaway you won’t want to miss — now through July 30, 2023, 11:59:59 PM EST.
Get your lip liner game on point by experimenting with different techniques. Practice makes perfect, so play around with it beforehand to master the art of achieving your desired lip shape and effect on your wedding day.
No need to pout, lovies — you’ve got this!
So, you're on the hunt for the perfect lip liner shade? Well, fret not! I've got some fabulous recommendations to help you select the shade that'll make your lips pop and your heart skip a beat.
First things first, let's talk about matching your lip liner to your natural lip color. If you're all about that au naturale look, go for a lip liner that closely matches your lips. This way, you'll define your lip shape without overpowering those gorgeous natural tones.
Now, if you've got a specific lipstick or lip gloss shade in mind, it's all about coordination, baby! Pick a lip liner that either matches or complements your chosen lip color. By doing this, you'll define those luscious lips, prevent any feathering mishaps, and achieve a polished and put-together look, trust me!
If you're looking for some versatility, you need a neutral or universal lip liner. These magical shades work with multiple lip colors, thanks to their warm and cool undertones. They're like chameleons for your lips, effortlessly adapting to any lipstick or lip gloss you desire. Talk about a lip liner that can do it all!
Now, let's talk about nude lip liners. These little wonders are perfect for creating a natural lip look or subtly altering your lip shape. When choosing a nude lip liner, go for a shade that closely matches your natural lip color or your preferred nude lipstick. Embrace that natural beauty, and let your lips do the talking!
But wait, there's more! When you're feeling bold and daring with your lip color choices, it's time to bring in the contrast game. Pick a lip liner that's slightly deeper or brighter than your lipstick shade. This contrast will create definition and prevent smudging, so you can rock those bold lips with confidence.
Remember, your skin tone and undertones play a crucial role in finding the perfect lip liner shade. What works for one gal might not work for another, so it's essential to consider your unique features. Don't be shy—swatch those lip liner shades on your lips to see how they interact with your natural lip color and desired lip products.
And here's a little secret for you: lip liner shades can be mixed and layered to create custom shades or subtle variations. So, let your creative side shine! Play around, experiment, and blend those lip liner shades until you achieve the desired effect. It's all about finding what works best for you, gorgeous!
If you're feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the options, don't hesitate to seek guidance from a makeup artist or try out some samples at a beauty counter. These experts are there to help you find the absolute best lip liner shade. They've got your back, and they'll make sure your lips are ready to steal the show on your big day!
First things first, waterproof lip liners are like superheroes for your lips. They can handle all kinds of challenges that regular lip liners can't. We're talking water, humidity, and anything else that could make your lip color fade or smudge. And let's be real, who wants their beautiful lip color to disappear halfway through the day? Not you!
Another awesome thing about waterproof lip liners is that they create a magical barrier. This barrier keeps your lip color exactly where it's supposed to be—on your lips! No smudging or feathering outside the lines, especially if you're rocking a bold or dark lip color. Ain't nobody got time for that!
Now, let's consider the weather conditions on your special day. If you're tying the knot in a place where humidity and heat are best friends, or if there's a chance of rain, waterproof lip liner is your best friend, too. It'll help your lip color stay put, no matter what Mother Nature throws your way. Talk about a lifesaver!
But here's a little head’s up: waterproof lip liners can be a bit drier or firmer in texture compared to regular ones. So, they might require a little more pressure when applying. To combat any potential dryness, make sure to moisturize your lips with a lip balm or primer before using the waterproof liner. And hey, it's always a good idea to do a trial-run beforehand, just to get comfortable with the application and make sure you've found your perfect match.
So, should you consider using a waterproof lip liner for your wedding day? Absolutely! If you want your lip color to last longer, avoid smudging, and survive any weather conditions, it's definitely worth a try. Get ready to pucker up and say "I do" with confidence, knowing your lip color will be picture-perfect all day long!
XOXO,
Alayne

]]>We’re undeniably the kind of girls that get giddy every time she receives flowers from the one she loves. It’s a total heart-skip-a-beat-pinch-me-moment because it’s still an incredibly romantic gesture in our books (hello, your S.O. thought of you, can you ask for much more?!). However, when you’re planning a wedding, flowers can literally make or break your budget. They are costly and, unfortunately, not on the top of couples’ lists when prioritizing what’s important to them for their wedding. Which we totally get, after all, there are so many other things to include in your wedding that you have to budget for. That’s why we were drooling when we heard the idea of renting your wedding florals. Hello!! Why hasn’t anyone brought this up before (read: why isn’t this more popular where that everyone’s buzzing about?). Therefore, we went to Laken Swan and Lauren Bercier, Co-Founders of Something Borrowed Blooms to bring you up to date on the ingenious concept of renting your wedding florals.
You might be thinking how you can rent fresh flowers…how is that even possible, right? Well, to Swan and Bercier’s knowledge, “there are no options on the market to rent fresh flowers, mainly because of their limited shelf life.” So that leaves you with faux flowers from artificial plants. However, if you’re knocking the idea, don’t, because silk, dried, and paper flowers are all beautiful options.
Silk flowers are merely artificial versions of natural flowers. Plus, there’s a reason silk flowers are the most popular among the artificial choices, and that is “you can find just about any flower variety in the silk or artificial form,” they say. Plus, there’s an option for you to have premium silk flowers, which allows you to have flowers that “have the closest resemblance to fresh flowers.”
Swan and Bercier tell us, “Dried flowers are made by preserving fresh elements from bushes, flowers, and trees. [They] are often very delicate and more muted in color.”
“Paper flowers are crafted with skill from high quality paper materials. They can be very colorful, detailed, and attractive; however, they are the least likely to mimic fresh flowers,” they explain.
Did you know that Swan and Bercier say, “an average wedding order with Something Borrowed Blooms is just around $500, compared to the national fresh flower average of $3,000.” Okay, is it just us or is the idea of saving just as sexy as flowers?
Besides the fact that they’re cost-efficient (seriously, the cost doesn’t even change season-to-season, it just is what it is), the duo tells us the other benefits to renting flowers is that it’s a more “sustainable choice than fresh flowers. For most weddings, flowers are used for a few hours before being thrown away. [However, their] bouquets are re-used multiple times, with light refreshes between each use, upwards of 26 times per year before being recycled, never thrown away.” It also “provides couples the ability to see ‘exactly’ what they’re getting before the big day. With fresh flowers, there’s always some unknown due to the supply chain and week-of availability. Unfortunately, a fresh florist cannot guarantee an exact arrangement.” And another benefit (as if you need another reason… but just in case you do), they boast about how you can rent your wedding flowers online, 24/7, which is a huge benefit to many busy couples. So no need to take time off work to meet with multiple florists to get quotes.
Being fully transparent, there are disadvantages to renting your wedding flowers. (What, don’t be surprised, there are downsides to just about everything.) First, Swan and Bercier says, “[it] may limit your ability for customization,” specifically color palettes and styles. And, “your guests can’t take floral arrangements home as party favors.” However, if neither of those things phase you, then renting florals might just be an option for your wedding.
You can literally rent almost any floral arrangement you would typically purchase from a fresh florist. There’s no limitation to the type of arrangement you can order. Bridal bouquets, bridesmaid bouquets, boutonnières, corsages, posies, aisle markers, pomander balls, dog collars, hair pieces, garlands, flower walls, and more, we’re told. The sky’s the limit!
Of course, we couldn’t not ask the big question: what should you be looking for when working with these floral rental companies. Needless to say, it’s a lot different than the list of questions to ask a florist before hiring them. So, Swan and Bercier suggest: “First, quality, doing your research is the most important step to ensure quality. If you can’t see the artificial flowers in-person, scroll through the company’s Instagram and website to look at photos. You can take it a step further and ask to be connected to a previous bride for her testimony. Second reliability, shipping and inventory logistics can be complex, so be sure to choose a tried and trusted brand!”

]]>Crafting a look for your wedding is no easy feat and for some it extends to what the guests wear, inviting (or requesting) them to dress in a certain way. Let’s face it — we’ve all been there, going to the mailbox and finding a wedding invitation for loved ones, only to open it and find you are being asked to dress in a certain color, style, or theme. Sometimes it’s as simple as asking for black tie, other times it’s about a theme like Great Gatsby. It brings up L.O.T.S. of questions and we’ve got answers. So no matter what kind of guest attire you’re asked to wear, we’ve got you covered thanks to advice from Sarah Liu, the Chief Designer of JJ’s House.
When the wedding invitation you receive asks for cocktail attire, Liu explains this is “a dress worn on semi-formal occasions. It is a balance between formal and casual, and comfortable and elegant.” The length should be above-the-knee, not to short or too long, she advises, with detail designs, ruffles, sequins, or lace appliqués.
According to Liu, black tie attire calls for a formal dress. “A long dress that reaches the ground, and it can also have a little tail.” She notes, it’s usually “made of high-quality fabrics, such as chiffon, satin, lace, mesh, sequins, velvet, etc. These fabrics can add luster and texture to the dress, making the dress look more elegant.”
On the opposite end of black tie, we have white-tie, which is “typically the most formal dress code which requires grand ball gowns.” These are floor length gowns, Liu says, which “typically has the most exquisite detail design, such as fine pleats, embroidery, beads and so on. These designs can make the dress look very gorgeous, unique, and memorable.”
Semi-formal attire, Liu notes, is “a little more formal than cocktail dresses, but not as solemn and formal as black tie or white tie. . . . It usually requires more formal but not too formal dresses, meaning you should not wear your everyday outfits nor do you have to wear a gown.” And in terms of length, it is similar to that of a cocktail dress.
The options are high with a casual dress code. According to Liu, that “usually means that [there is no] strict dress code, so you can choose dresses according to the occasion and your preferences.”
In keeping with the idea of options, this black-tie optional dress code “typically requires women to wear formal dresses, but not necessarily having to be long gowns or formal evening gowns. [It] can be a long skirt or a short skirt. The length is usually a few inches above or below the knee, but it does not necessarily need to reach the ground. Black-tie optional dress is usually more formal and elegant than cocktail dress, but slightly simpler than black tie or white tie skirt.”

“Formal dress code usually requires women to wear formal, elegant dresses,” explains Liu. It’s “usually a long dress, and the length usually needs to reach the ankle. If you choose a short dress, the length also needs to be a few inches below the knee. Formal dress is usually more formal and elegant than black-tie optional dress, with gorgeous detail design. At the same time, these dresses usually have less skin revealing for a formal and dignified vibe.”
A dress code calling for you to come as you are means you can wear whatever you want. “This usually means there aren't any formal attire requirements, and you can choose something comfortable, casual, or statement-making.”
Comfortable
Casual
Statement
A festive dress code references a celebratory occasion, such as festivals, parties, or special celebrations. Here, Liu tells us, you “can choose some shiny, gorgeous, vibrant skirts to match the Festive Theme.” Opt for bright and vivid colors like red, green, gold, silver, etc. with textured and luxury fabrics, such as silk, satin, sequins, lace, etc. She goes on to explain with this festive dress code, you can choose some creative and special designs, such as ruffles, pleats, tassels, sequins, hollows, etc. And, of course, she advises the length should be appropriate to your personal preferences, such as miniskirts, knee-length skirts, long skirts, etc.
When there is no dress code stipulated on the wedding invitation, it’s common for guests to dress according to the time of the wedding — be it brunch, afternoon, or late-afternoon and evening. Choosing what to wear can become that much more difficult, but there are certain suggested guidelines you can follow to avoid an epic nightmare.
Liu advises that for a brunch wedding without a specific dress code, “guests can choose some relaxed, elegant and comfortable clothes for the wedding.”
She suggests a light dress or skirt, either above or below the knee length, in bright spring colors like baby blue, pink, lemon yellow, etc. Or a lightweight pantsuit, such as a pair of pants and a light shirt, that can be worn with comfortable flats or sandals.
Here “wedding guests can choose some semi-formal or casual attire.” Examples include: a well-fitting dress or skirt can be above or below the knee in length, neutral in color, and simple in style, depending on the theme of the wedding. Or a proper trouser outfit, such as a pair of trousers and shirt with a refined jacket or fleece coat, which can be paired with a pair of heels or flats.
For a late-afternoon wedding in the evening, Liu suggests “wedding guests choose some semi-formal or formal attire, such as a formal evening gown or a long dress in a dark color.” She explains, this is your chance to “go for bright colors or flashy designs, but avoid styles that are too revealing or dramatic.” Another appropriate outfit option would be a skirt or trousers, paired with a formal top or jacket and a pair of heels.
For an evening wedding with no stated dress code, then guests should select formal clothes. Liu suggests a long gown, in black or dark, with simple jewelry and heels.
“Or for a proper evening gown, go for bright colors or flamboyant designs, but avoid styles that are too revealing or too dramatic.”

]]>Fashion is being redefined with the versatility of wedding dresses, unlocking the possibility of one dress having two, three different styles that give brides the ability to show off their unique personality. Eva Lendel has joined the ever-growing trend and does not disappoint with their new Love Spell Collection, a collection that is truly enchanting! So, naturally, our editors got together and picked their faves! Of course, we loved all of them — the elegance, glamour, and refined style was out of this world. But enough about that, you’ll see for yourselves soon enough! So here are the looks from the Eva Lendel Southern French abbey photoshoot that had us doing a double-take. We know you’re going to love ‘em, too!
It’s just the right amount of sexy while still being classy. It’s the epitome of subtle beauty with the translucent lace that blends perfectly with the satin. To match the timeless look, the style’s mermaid silhouette and sweetheart neckline adds to the alluring grace of the dress. — The Simple Gal
It’s elegant. It’s timeless. And OH. SO. SEXY. The neckline is a total show-stopper, and every line perfectly accentuates the body’s silhouette. This captivating and bold style is eye-catching, beautifully framing the décolletage. Plus, the uniqueness of the halter neckline that runs into a long train is swoon-worthy, to say the least. — The Glam Goddess
The transparent lace overdress and iconic nature of the buttons down the back caught my eye immediately. It’s intricate and detailed, but yet so simple and timeless when you remove the overdress to leave behind a bustle mermaid dress. You don’t have to choose a look, you can have both. Wear the lace turtleneck style to your ceremony and a deep V-neckline that accentuates your body to your reception. There’s nothing quite like a design that’s versatile and customizable so your unique style can sparkle. — The Romantic at Heart
Oh, and the cover photo is the style ‘Praha,’ a look we all adored!
And you can expect to see the rest of the collection soon enough right here on our blog and gracing the pages of Celebrate Weddings Magazine. ;)

]]>Long, flowing locks are definitely obsession-worthy. Especially on your wedding day! They work whether you want them to put your hair up in a dramatic and voluminous way or leave it down. But not everyone has long hair, and unfortunately it doesn’t just grown on command. The answer: hair extensions! So if you thought the choice to get hair extensions was simple, then you’d be right (and wrong). Let’s be real: hair extensions have evolved immensely and no longer require a trip to the salon, so they’re easy-to-use and a great choice to add a little somethin’ somethin’ to your already beautiful mane. But there are so many decisions that come into play, and we recommend you consider all of the different angles (*see what we did there) before you make an appointment (or shop them to DIY) to add length and body to your hair. So, we got with Maggie Mae, beauty artist and owner of Blossom Beauty, to give you all the juicy deets on hair extensions and everything you need to know when considering them for your wedding day.
This is sort of the best part. . . . Mae tells us, “all hairstyles can benefit from extensions.” Now, whether they’re necessary for every hairstyle is a different question, and, according to Mae, “extensions can be used to add length, to add fullness or to add both. If [you don’t] need or want extra length or fullness, then extensions aren’t necessary.” But if adding length or thickness is something you want, then whether you’re planning on wearing your hair down on your wedding day, in a long classic ponytail, or even in a bun, hair extensions can work for you.
Now, let’s address the elephant in the room — you’re a hair extensions virgin. No bigs! If you’re planning on using them for the first time on your wedding day, then Mae recommends you do your research to find the right type of extension for you and see the differences between all of them. We told you, so many decisions, but luckily for you, we’ve got you covered right here. ⬇️
You’ve got your semi-permanent choices, such as versatile tape-ins, beaded, sew-ins, and glow-ins; or if you’re looking for something more temporary, then you can look to halos and clip-ins, both of which you very easy to attach yourself.
Mae explains that semi-permanent extensions are “great for those that want thicker, longer hair on more than just the wedding day. These require an extension specialist to install and require regular maintenance appointments.”
You want to make sure you don’t hesitate on getting these done and leave them to the last minute. At least 8 weeks before the wedding day, you should look to install them. This gives you time to “get used to them and learn to take care of them properly. It also allows for a move up appointment right before the wedding,” Mae tells us.
You don’t need to break these in as much, so you can simply add them on your wedding day. This makes these ideal for those last-minute decision-makers (hello, myself included !).
If you’re looking for a DIY hair extension option, then the fact that this is easy-to-use and doesn’t require professional help might make this the right choice for you. Halo extensions are best for those “who want thicker, longer hair on the[ir] wedding day and would love to be able to easily ‘re-wear’ their extensions for special occasions.”
While halo extensions can easily be re-worn and are DIY-friendly, clip-in extensions are a little less so. “They can absolutely be ‘re-worn,’ but are a little more challenging to place on your own. If you only want to wear them on your wedding day or are fairly hair-savvy this is definitely a great option,” Mae explains. As with halo extensions, these are perfect if you’re looking for thicker, longer hair just for your wedding day.
Clip-in extensions are Mae’s favorite for the wedding day, saying it’s because “they allow the most flexibility in placement. I can put them exactly where I need them to get the best result for the look the bride has selected. Sometimes with semi-permanent extensions I have to ‘adjust’ the hairstyle in order to hide the extension track.” And nobody wants that!
Mae uses and recommends Bellami clip-in extensions, because “the hair is of the highest quality and they have numerous colors to choose from.”
She also explains “halo extensions can also be a great choice for brides wanting to wear them again after the wedding day. For those, I recommend Halo Couture.”
But when you’re shopping for either clip-in or halo extensions “it’s incredibly important that clip-in extensions are 100% Remi human hair. Otherwise, heat styling can melt the extensions,” Mae warns.
Of course, you want the extension to match or blend in with your color, but coloring your extensions “should only be done by a professional,” Mae informs. “Unlike natural hair, extension don’t grow back, so any damage done by coloring is harder to repair.”
Ahhh… Now for the unpopular but ever-so-important aspect — price. It depends on which type of hair extensions you decide upon. However, for semi-permanent extensions “you can expect to spend $600+ for the hair and initial installation. Additional move-up appointments will be required every 8 weeks at an additional cost.”
The price for halo extensions start at around $450 and for some vendors, like Blossom Beauty, “the package may include the Halo Couture piece, preparation with proper products, installation on your wedding day, and a hanging storage case.”
Clip-in extensions start at around $200 and, similar to halo extensions, some vendors may have a package that includes them along with preparation with proper products, installation on your wedding day, and a hanging storage case.
Now, if you choose to purchase halo or clip-in extensions on your own, then “you’ll likely be required to pay an additional installation fee on the wedding day. Typically, those fees are $50-$150 and account for the additional time required to prepare and install the extensions.”

]]>Let the countdown to summer begin! With officially less than a month to Memorial Day, the true kickoff to summer, we simply cannot wait another second to dream about fun in the sun. And while it is fun to hang in the sun on long summer days, it can have an impact on your skin, so we got with our (and your) favorite licensed Esthetician, skin expert and acne specialist, Jess Clarke Higgins for all things summer skin treatments so you’re prepared for the season. She is also the Owner of Denver, Colorado’s Just Skin Den because, for her, it’s all about feeling good in your skin. So let’s jump right in!
Summer skin is often dry, cracked, or sun-burned, there’s no question of that. Indeed skin types vary, but these are common occurrences in the summer even for those of us with combination or oily skin (yes, I’m talking about myself here, too, lovies). So what does Clarke Higgins recommend by way of facial treatments? She tells us: “I would recommend either not getting a facial treatment at all as that skin is especially sensitive and if you are peeling from a sunburn, you could end up with hypo-pigmentation (white spots) which are very hard to reverse. Or, go and get a very gentle facial with hydrating products and a little manipulation from an Esthetician.”
But again, skin types vary, so you might be wondering what she recommends if you’re more oily, even during the summer months, and not so much sun-burned or dry/cracked. Luckily, Clarke Higgins has you covered. Her advice: “If you have more oily skin, I would recommend changing your routine slightly — add in a toner that has some salicylic acid or willow bark (Paula’s Choice BHA is the most popular). I would use it 2-3 times a week in the morning to start. Try using a more gel-based moisturizer, I like Neutrogena Hydroboost as an affordable option.”
And for those of you wondering about LED blue light treatments, she explains, “blue light is great, but anything you do at home you must be consistent with. If you do it once a week, you won’t see the kind of results that are noticeable. I would try to use it every day/night for about 5 minutes. Blue light helps with oil production and to kill bacteria that causes breakouts.”
Clarke Higgins makes it no secret — she is all for at-home treatments and recommends them. “I like to say to do it 1-2x a week depending on what else you use at home. Do it on a day where you are not using anything else exfoliating. For oily skin types, I would get something clay-based and use it once a week because it can be drying. For dry skin types, I would get a sleeping mask like Hydraberry from Clearstem, you could use that every night over your moisturizer if you wanted. For everyone else, I love my Pregame Mask with Clearstem. You can use 1-2x a week and it helps to brighten and resurface skin and is gentle enough to use the day of a big event, [like your wedding, of course].”
“The best way to remove dirt and/or makeup from skin is to double cleanse. I like to start with an oil, rinse it off, then use my traditional cleanser,” says Clarke Higgins, “The key is to use a white towel. I like to use the single-use biodegradable ones from Clean Skin Club. This way you can see, visually, if all of the dirt is gone from your skin.”
For brides with sensitive skin concerns, she explains, “I would make sure they are using as much sunscreen as possible and icing their face at home. Stick to a moisturizer with aloe in it (I love Glymed Comfort Cream). And hold off on invasive in-office treatments.”
And finally, Clarke Higgins talks the most sought after goal for summer skin — hydration. She says, “Truly, the best way to hydrate is from the inside-out. Focus on drinking plenty of water and getting electrolytes. I also love sleeping with a humidifier. [Lastly,] if you use a hydrating serum, remember to put that on your skin first before a moisturizer so that you skin can truly absorb it.”

Just last month we had the privilege of receiving an invitation to Galia Lahav’s NYBFW Spring 2024 Bridal Collection Preview and if that wasn’t an honor enough, we were also able to call on the mind of the talented genius behind the brand for an exclusive interview before NYBFW kicked off. Of course with Galia Lahav’s latest looks turning any fashion-conscious bride into a sexy glam goddess, we had to inquire about Sever Faibish’s recommendations for styling a wedding dress to look sexy.
Celebrate Weddings Magazine (CWM): When styling a wedding dress to achieve a certain look, what is some advice you have for brides to keep in mind?
Sharon Sever Faibish (SSF): Don't be afraid to experiment with different styles and accessories to achieve the look you want, but always make sure it feels authentic to you. It's your day, and you want to feel confident and comfortable in your dress. Galia Lahav is all about personalization and making the gown your own — I think a bride should start with finding the gown that makes her feel the most authentic and then build the rest of the look from there.
CWM: What if the bride said they wanted to look sexy, what advice would you have for them?
SSF: If the bride wants to look sexy on their wedding day, my advice would be to focus on deciding to highlight one of their best features while still keeping it tasteful and elegant. This could mean choosing a dress with a fitted silhouette, plunging neckline, or sheer details. But in the end, sexy is different for every person, and feeling sexy should come from within. The bride should feel sexy no matter what silhouette, cut, or fabric she chooses!
CWM: If a bride wants to look sexy on their wedding day, what would you suggest they do with their accessories?
SSF: When it comes to accessories for a sexy look, I would suggest incorporating statement pieces to add a touch of glamour & drama. A bold, sparkly sash or a dramatic back necklace can make a one-of-a-kind statement & elevate the look to the next level. I would highly recommend going for one statement piece though. Just like with the gown, I think it is important to have the right balance. Either big earrings or a big necklace, not both.
CWM: What are must-have pieces for a sexy look when thinking about jewelry?
SSF: When selecting jewelry for a sexy bridal look, it's important to choose pieces that accentuate & enhance the bride's natural beauty and complement the dress. Jewelry can add a touch of elegance & sexiness to the overall look and should enhance the confidence and beauty of the bride's special day. Glamourous drop earrings, a sparkly tennis bracelet, or a dainty pendant necklace can all be great options for adding a touch of glamour to a sexy wedding look.
CWM: How about veils; what style would help achieve the sexy look?
SSF: Veils can definitely be a seductive addition to a wedding look, adding an element of mystery & allure. For a sexier look, I would suggest choosing a sheer or lace veil that drapes over the face, creating a sense of intimacy and sensuality. Alternatively, a dramatic cathedral-length veil can create a stunning entrance as it trails behind the bride, adding an element of drama and sophistication to the overall look. Ultimately, the veil should complement the dress and the bride's personal style, and add an extra element of sexiness to the overall look.
CWM: Any thoughts on selecting a shoe when styling a wedding dress?
SSF: When selecting a shoe, it’s important to consider the style and silhouette of the dress. For a sexy look, I would suggest choosing a shoe with a pointed toe or a sleek, strappy design. However, comfort is also key — it's important to make sure the shoe is something the bride can walk and dance in all day and night! I do think that open shoes are always sexier than closed ones though.

The English translation of this quote from Otello, the four-act Italian opera based on William Shakespeare's play Othello, is that it’s all the fault of the moon, when it gets too close to the earth it drives everyone crazy. Well, be ready to be driven crazy by WONÁ Concept’s Notte d’Opera Couture Collection 2023.
WONÁ’s Founder Ilona Shramko sees the two wonders of the world the luminaries and the opera, genuinely majestic and immortal. According to the brand, these wonders touch the soul's strings, bring on tears and admiration, and make you feel the most profound emotions. It’s only natural then that their latest collection is inspired by the divine essence in these wonders — thus WONÁ introduces the Notte d'Opera Couture Collection 2023. The collection features 22 stunning dresses 12 ballgowns, seven mermaid-styled and four A-line silhouettes.
Shramko says, “During my travels to New York, I had an exceptional opportunity to visit The Metropolitan Opera. As I watched Otello, I was amazed by the power of voice and how deeply it touched my heart. The very moment I realised it resembled the feeling when the bride does first look, and the groom sees her for the first time in her perfect wedding dress. Hence, we decided to dedicate WONÁ bridal couture collection to opera.”
The sparkly embellishments resemble the stars and the moon, shining on the brightest night, the magnificent ball skirts embody the majesty of opera, and its combination is concealed in details.
Prevailingly, the textiles are stiff taffeta, satin and embroidered lace, and several pieces are decorated with lightweight tulle. The detachable overskirts and boleros enrich the mermaid styles with added layers. The decorations allow the viewer to explore the details of patterned lace, eclectic ruffle layers, draping and extensively puffed sleeves. All ballgown styles are advised to wear with a hoop petticoat for extra lushness.

This week we’ve got plenty of Old Hollywood inspo if that’s your thing. Today, in particular, we’ve got Audrey Hepburn-inspired hair and makeup from Make Me Fabulou in New York.
]]>Deciding on a look for your wedding day is so important. Your look has to vibe with your wedding theme and your innate style. Working with a professional hair and makeup artist certainly can help you achieve the look you’re going for. But what if you need a little bit of inspiration? This week we’ve got plenty of Old Hollywood inspo if that’s your thing. Today, in particular, we’ve got Audrey Hepburn-inspired hair and makeup. Growing up in what we call today the Old Hollywood era, Audrey Hepburn knew a thing or two about style. She had a flair that was all her own. She was, in a word — elegant. So it’d be no surprise if you want a look inspired by the icon herself for your wedding day. To dish on all the best advice, we got with Alayne Curtiss, founder of Make Me Fab Salon & Spa in New York who was actually part of a creative team that put together an Audrey Hepburn inspired photo shoot.
Hepburn is most associated with the infamous Breakfast at Tiffany’s, so it’s little wonder if you want hair reminiscent of her’s from the classic movie. Curtiss tells us that for this shoot, they were also going for that look and to get it they actually studied images and videos of the actress for over a year to prepare! For this, she recommends a high French twist. And for the Hepburn-styled bangs, Curtiss tells us that she incorporated two sets of clip-in bangs for a fuller bang with a more modern length.
While wanting to capture Hepburn’s makeup, Curtiss suggests that you might want a modern timeless feel, as she did for this shoot. “To recreate Hepburn’s makeup [she] practiced and tested the eye brows a bunch of times to get the shape and strength accurate. Getting the winged eyeliner just right was accomplished with [a product from Curtiss’ own line] — Insanely Waterproof Felt Tip Eyeliner, which gives a true black patent leather finish and Baby Wispies by Ardell. Minimal liner was used under the bottom lash line with [her] matte shadow in Unforgettable (Satin Matte Powder Eyeshadow). All of the lip colors we chose were from our original Long Wear Lip Color Collection — Shimmer and Matte Longwear Lipcolor. We found that Hepburn wore classic warm reds and wine shades with a soft matte texture.”

]]>Every part of your body needs a little TLC, which is why you moisturize your body when you get out of a shower to protect the microbiomes in your skin (or you don’t and this just got awkward…). Regardless, your hair needs some TLC, which is where hair treatments enter the equation. Because if there’s ever a day to have a good hair day, it’s your wedding day. That’s why we got with Alicia Igess Jones, CEO of Urban Tangles, to talk all things pre-wedding hair treatments.
Before you can go shopping for hair treatments (though it is *seriously* fun to shop!), the type of treatment you shop for depends on the type of hair you have and what you’re looking to get done. So here’s a quick breakdown for you.
Scalp treatments are best for dry and itchy scalps. Jones recommends a treatment that includes a steam treatment, which uses moist heat to open the hair follicles to better hydrate and moisturize. If you have very dry hair, Jones recommends “steam treatments with a moisturizing mask for very dry hair.” She also recommends these treatments for someone who has a relaxer or uses thermal heat, like a curling or flat iron regularly.
Products that contain tea tree oil, zinc, menthol, or apple cider vinegar act as a basic scalp treatment that can address dry and itchy scalp, Jones also notes.
But, bottom line, people with this condition should “use the appropriate shampoos or ointments prescribed by their dermatologists.”
Jones recommends people who suffer with dry and itchy scalps consider using a Nioxin professional scalp treatment. Alternatively, Jones says, “Kerastase has a great scalp scrub.”
Alas, a treatment you can do up until the big day, depending on the type and texture of hair you have, of course. If you have curly hair that you’re looking to blow out, Jones recommends moisturizing masks up to the wedding day. However, she notes that if you have very fine hair, then putting anything in your hair that will weigh it down is probably not the best option.
Another reason you should use a moisturizing conditioner is if your hair feels hard from a protein treatment you may have gotten.
Humidity-proofing you hair is no easy feat, especially if you live in a humid state during the summer months. We love summer more than the last person, but it can leave your hair frizzy and out of sorts and no one ways that. That’s where Keratin treatments come to the rescue, because keeping your hair looking glossy is the whole objective. Jones suggests getting this done a week before or the week of your wedding. Before using Keratin treatments, though, you should ensure you’re a candidate for it with your hair texture. You can ask your hair stylist or check with the product manufacturer. Generally, these treatments are recommended for coarse, thick, frizzy, or curly hair.
Nevertheless, if you happen to not be a candidate for Keratin treatments, then don’t stress, because an amino acid treatment might just do the trick. These treatments seal hair bonds, giving them that extra something without the harsh chemicals. Similar to Keratin treatments, you can get this done a week before or the week of your wedding.
These days it seems everyone is looking for the next big thing to ensure their tresses are smooth and silky. And if your natural hair isn’t like that (whose is with all of the environmental factors at play?) then turning to hair-smoothening treatments is an obvious answer. But people aren’t just turning to any smoothening treatments, but rather hair botox or cysteine for their rumored ability to add shine to your hair while also giving it a straight hair look. Let’s be real: when a celebrity or your BFF brings attention to their shiny hair, you want in on that action. After all, why shouldn’t your tresses be the talk of the town, too? That’s why we’re breaking down the differences between the two treatments that have garnered more than a little attention in recent years.
Jones says that hair botox is “typically done on finer hair” and that it’s not supposed to be a permanent process. In fact, if your hair is color-treated, then the fact that the botox is anti-fading might be of interest to you. Nonetheless, as with most things there’s a risk factor to it and, as Jones notes, she has “seen people lose their hair texture after hair botox and need a haircut as a result.” So please proceed with caution.
Frizz-be-gone should literally be the slogan for cysteine treatments, because the process is intended to remove the frizz from your hair. But just for a few days, right? No, cysteine treatments are a permanent process, so the frizz, as Jones puts it, “is being removed from your hair permanently. Your texture is being altered and will not curl up after this treatment.” (So if you don’t like change, maybe don’t do this treatment… just a thought.)
Now that you know the difference between the two treatments, you should probably know the aftercare for these smoothening treatments. Jones says, “aftercare is maintaining a good balance of moisture in the hair. When hair is moisturized properly, it won’t be prone to breaking off.”
As you decide which one is right for you or whether either are at all, here’s something to remember, too: Some treatments have an at-home maintenance kit. Jones suggests “purchasing that and following the manufacturer’s instructions.” She also urges you to look at “amino acids first because they are milder, and it’s safer for someone who wants to attempt to keep most if not all of their texture during the process.” (See above for more on amino acids treatments.)
Literally for a treatment for ALL hair types and textures — glossing treatment. (Just gonna pretend that there’s a huge round of applause after that statement, because there totally should be.) Move over other hair treatments, because this one adds shine and enhances the color of your hair. It gives you that long-lasting shine look celebrities have on red carpets.
This semi-permanent treatment is great for chemically-treated hair, but that’s not to say virgin hair couldn’t benefit from hair glossing, too. Hair gloss doesn’t need to have color, it can be clear. With this clear option, you won’t be coloring your hair, only adding the shine you want, as Jones explains, and getting that healthier look you crave.
Of course, you should consult with your hair stylist to see if hair glossing is right for you and how frequently you should get it done, but if it’s a go, then it can be done the week of your wedding, according to Jones.
Progenra is a hair loss treatment intended to rejuvenate. It’s all about micro-surgical hair growth, taking cells from your scalp and helps stimulate rejuvenation in the areas with hair loss. If you’re interested in this treatment, then Jones recommends you “start at least a year to 18 months before [your] wedding to really see the results. Depending on how severe the hair loss is, [you] may want to start [two] years out from the wedding day.”
So you’re a hair treatment virgin? If you are, then Jones advises you choose something that isn’t permanent unless “you have a thorough consultation and do it far enough in advance [of your wedding] to determine if it’s something you want to do again right before the wedding.” Moreover, she says “conditioning treatments that include a dryer or steamer may be more ideal.”
As noted, there are different timelines for different treatments, but on a whole, Jones says, “hair treatments can be done [three] months out from the wedding. Some treatments are more effective if a person gets multiple applications. Some may need to have [two] treatments [six] weeks apart. [Again] It depends on the type of treatment [you get] in order to determine how far out. Once a consultation is done, [your] needs are understood better and suggestions are made then. Three months should give someone plenty of time to get the necessary treatments for their desired outcome.”
Every year there are new hair color trends, and if you’re into the biggest trends of the year, then you probably know that our friends at Cosmopolitan [https://www.cosmopolitan.com/hair-color-ideas/] have some of the best insights on color trends. And you want you’re hair color to be trending, right? Especially for your wedding, we’re sure. But remember it is not advisable to try any a new color close to your wedding day. In fact, Jones suggests you look to trying a new color three months in advance, giving you enough time to get used to the new color, as well as touch-up the roots the week of your wedding so it has the perfect look. And, if possible, you should use the same colorist you used before. But where that’s not an option, for whatever reason, Jones suggests you have your colorist give you the color formula and technique they utilized.
Before selecting a color, Jones takes us through the process she takes her clients through, and we think every stylist should do the same: “I ask the client a series of questions to understand what their vision is for their wedding day. I don’t suggest anyone do something unfamiliar or brand new the week of the wedding if they aren’t use to change. Trials are offered for them to rule out how they feel about the ‘something new,’” Jones notes.
For anyone with color-treated hair, Jones recommends Olaplex. She also looks to “a variety of Malibu C products for swimmers, pre-color treatments and color removal, as well as pre-color and post-color treatments on all of [her] color clients.”
Jones does caution “people should avoid overusing products. For example, Olaplex is sold to consumers. [People] should not use these products every time they shampoo their hair. Protein treatments should not be used every time a person shampoos their hair.”
Friendly Tip: If you’re curious whether a beauty product, such as hair treatment products, are safe or not, there’s a solution: EWG. They are a boss when it comes to diving deep into the health hazards and risks that come with using certain products. And if you can’t find a product tested on their site, they enable you to make a custom report by putting in the list of ingredients from a product yourself. Pretty cool, right? Just some food for thought.
Finding your wedding dress is the first step to getting your wedding day look together. The dress is everything, but you know what might be even more? The wedding accessories! They are a way to express your style and individuality, making that designer dress (and therefore look) totally your own. With so many wedding accessories to choose from we could go on forever — a cape, sash, belt, or how about shoes? Jewelry, veils, tiara, and need we remind you about garters?! Indeed, the options are endless! And there are few rules when it comes to combining accessories. . . . You could don a tiara and a veil for the ultimate princess look, or maybe you want to rock a jacket and a clutch for more of a chill girl vibe. At the end of the day, it’s all about decisions. Luckily for you, we’re here to help!
When it comes right down to it the choices you make when picking your wedding accessories have to come from you. They have to speak to your style, your vision for your wedding day. As with your dress, no one can tell you what to wear because only you know what you will feel most yourself in. Feeling yourself — that’s all that matters. You may want to feel sexy or bold, or casual, and that’s okay, but it has to feel you at the end of the day to give you the most genuine version of yourself. Then and only then will you truly shine. So choose your wedding accessories with intention. What pieces add to or enhance your desired look? What pieces coordinate with your dress or overall look? And conversely, ask yourself, what pieces clash with it?
Pro Tip: Accessorizing can be fun, but be careful not to over-accessorize. You want to make sure you steal the show, not all your accessories. So before your trip down the aisle, lay all your picks out and pair them with your dress to make sure you aren’t over accessorizing. And don’t be afraid to put something back — Coco Chanel said it best when she said: “Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off.”
And for those of you looking for specific styling advice, if you’re going for a sexy look, then you’re in luck — we have styling advice from Galia Lahav’s head designer, Sharon Sever, where he talks plenty about accessorizing! Spoiler alert: Statement pieces are a winning option for a sexy look.
Lovies, your bridal accessory options are endless, but we’ve put together this list of little touches to help guide you in your quest for creating your perfect wedding day look from head-to-toe. YW. ;)
In the hair accessories category you’ve got your obvious (read: traditional) picks — veils and tiaras. Your veils range from face-framing, or something classic like a birdcage style, to short, mid-length or long (cathedral style including a trailing, train-length veil). Another option is to have a blusher veil, hiding your face until you reach your S.O. at the alter. Tiaras (or headpieces) can be gemstone- or crystal-filled, or more understated.
And if all that glitz and glam isn’t your style, you may want to consider a flower crown. Or perhaps forgoing all sorts of headpieces and opt for decorative hair combs, clips or pins. Another playful option is a headband.
Pro Tip: Consult with your hair stylist to make sure whatever you opt for will play nicely with your desired hairstyle, be it an updo or down-styling.

The vintage lace on the trimming of this long veil makes it truly beautiful, and the ivory tulle is unmatched. This veil would look exquisite with any dress silhouette, but for a mermaid gown the result would be stunning.

What made this specific veil stand out to us? The delicate lace trimming, and it’s also why it’s our favorite. It looks like a veil that came straight out of Princess Diaries.

For the bold and unique bride, this ombré veil is 95” of soft Italian tulle. Select any base and ombré color you want and your veil can be one-of-a-kind.

This luxurious headband (more like tiara) screams modern elegance. The crystals and flowers are truly magnificent, and the grand design is bound to make any bride who wears it feel like a Princess.

So maybe you had hair pins in your hair for your prom, but this is not the same. Okay, maybe it’s similar, but not the same. These round glass pearls are the perfect subtle and elegant hair accessory, especially if you’re opting for no veil. The pearl hair pins will speak for themselves.
Wedding jewelry can give you that extra little sparkle or pizazz you might be looking for — be it a necklace, bracelet, earrings, or (engagement) ring.
As with hair accessories, we suggest you don’t make any decisions regarding your earrings until you know the hairstyle you’re going with. That could make the difference between a pair of chandelier earrings, huggies, or studs.
Now, let’s talk necklaces. This all relates back to the neckline of your wedding dress. Sometimes, it even correlates with your hair style. Would a long necklace or chocker work better? How about a string necklace or a single pendant?

Diamond studs are a simple and classic beauty. But there’s nothing “simple” about these 14k gold earrings. With a choice between yellow gold, white gold, and rose gold, these lab-created studs can also come in your preferred diamond size.

Pearls are the epitome of elegant (thank you, Coco Chanel), and these pearls happen to be freshwater cultured pearls… sign us up! For a more modern approach and look, the pearls are paired with 14k gold hoops. Modern elegance.

The diamonds? Lab-grown. The cut? Round brilliant. The metal? Sustainably sourced 14k gold. As is typical with lab-grown diamonds, you get to select the carat weight you want for your diamonds. It’s clearly no ordinary tennis bracelet.

There is just something about chokers that we can’t get enough of. They are literally appropriate for every ensemble. From hanging with your besties in jeans and a tank top to date night in a black cocktail dress to your wedding day, chokers look fabulous. They add to the beauty of your outfit without stealing the show but yet still leave an impression. And this hand-beaded lace one is out of this world. If you look closely you’ll see it’s beaded with rhinestones, pearls, and glass beads.
Falling in love? Wait until you see the back. The lace is connected to a lobster claw and drop chain that features a beautiful teardrop crystal rhinestone. So from the front or the back, you’re necklace will be a show-stopper.

We’re a total sucker for pearls (as you might’ve been able to tell) and the delicate beauty of this necklace made this one of our favorites. It doesn’t need to be a choker if you don’t want either, you can add an extender to it and make it as long as you want. Very classy, very elegant. Is it just us or is it fit for royalty?!
Style: Spencer

Okay, so funny enough… not only is this our favorite, but it’s also Blair’s. Yep, you can say it… we have great taste. TY! Anywayyy, back to this pearl fringe necklace. Y necklaces are perfect for a deep V-neck or low cut wedding dress. Plus, those freshwater pearls are everything (just sayin’!).

Marilyn Monroe was so right when she said “diamonds are a girl’s best friend.” They really are. Also, who doesn’t love a heart-cut diamond?
Fun fact about Pnina Tornai’s collection: The diamonds are independently certified by Gemological Science International.

This pear-cut diamond is a fashion-statement, to say the least. In addition, the round diamonds that adorn work seamlessly with the tapered-shank band.

Crystals and pearls galore! Just imagine this beautiful accessory with an open back dress. Dreamy, to say the least.

We added a men’s diamond wedding ring because why not?! Your S.O. deserves *fabulous* bling, too! Which is why this extraordinary black rope trimmed wedding band with round black diamonds is a handsome and bold choice. The intensity of the color black makes your union stand out on their hand for eternity.
Handbags, or better yet clutches, are an important accessory often forgotten by brides. They should be small though, something just big enough to hold tissues, makeup (especially your lipstick), mints, and maybe your phone. Everything else should be given to those around you to carry — i.e., your room key for the night can easily slip in your S.O.’s pocket and your bridesmaids can handle the rest. You may opt to have something personalized with your new married name, or go with something classic from a coveted brand (can you say Jimmy Choo?!)
Style: Micro Cloud

The all-over pearls make this a timeless clutch that can be used even after the wedding day. In addition to the pearls, the clasp on the clutch is made of crystals adding another element of elegance to the bag.

The crystal embellishments and gold touches are seriously working. Moreover, this clutch features a fold-over design that never goes out of style, and to make matters even better, it consists of a gold chain strap that is detachable so you can wear it anyway you want now.

So if you didn’t already pick up on it, we’re sorta obsessed with anything with a detachable element. Why? Two looks in one! Regardless, we’re talking about this beautiful Yves Saint Laurent pouch right now. This cotton-lined pouch has a detachable wristlet component so you can wear it around your wrist or under your arm (or have your S.O. carry it for you…who knows…😉).

It was the Maison’s Buckle that caught our attention, but it was the crystal flowers that made us stay. Oh, and the glitter is an undeniable win.
This shoulder or clutch purse (depending on whether you keep the gold chain) features hand-sewn beads. Of course, it’s the wording “Happily Ever After” that makes this the perfect purse for your wedding.
This should really read: Under-wear, because we’re talking all things that go under your wedding dress. That means shapewear, a bra or lingerie, hosiery, or even a garter. This is an excellent way to incorporate a little tradition, like your something blue or something borrowed (garters only for a something borrowed, please !). You can also play with textures here — no one has to know you’re sporting a little lace number. ;) Ultimately, this category of wedding accessories is all about self-confidence and self-love. Find what works for you and what makes you feel your best.
And if you need a little inspiration to get started in this category, we’ve got a clip of the most epic garter toss. But first, a word about bras: Finding a bra that works with a wedding dress can be challenging, frustrating even, but it’s possible (yes, even if you have a plunging neckline or backless dress). And remember a bra with an underwire is your best bet if you don’t have an open back wedding dress or a built-in bodice. Why? It’s all about the cleavage, lovies, it also gives the most form-flattering silhouette for any style of wedding dress.

This satin garter is totally customizable — garter set color, ribbon color, even bow size!
Say it loud, say it proud! You’re married! You can personalize each side of the bow to resemble a memory. For instance, one side can have your new married name and the other your wedding date. And because it’s so neat, it can be a keepsake. How cool is that?!
This set allows you to have two garters, one for you to toss and one for you to keep. And we’re loving the “You’re Next” concept Ella Winston Co. utilizes. It’s sorta adorable…
We don’t know about you, but we can attest to the fact that some bustiers are straight up uncomfortable. They “bone structure” in them is hard and by the time it comes to you taking it off at the end of the night, you’re left with a physical reminder of the hard (we’re gonna call it equipment) equipment you wore. But Fleur du Mal boasts this is a soft bone structure that utilizes your natural shape to give you an extra lift with the cups.
First off, the embroidery on the front of the thong that reads “Bride” is EVERYTHING. Sure it’s not seamless… but it has such barely-there seams that you’re covered.
Side note: Fleur du Mal has a luxe bridal garter that we also happen to love (just sayin’). Told ya we love shopping!
Hello! It’s backless. It’s strapless. It’s totally made for an open back, strapless dress. Have you seen anything more genius?!
And then there’s the obvious picks: anything from SKIMS because Kim Kardashian absolutely knows how to make shapewear ! ;)
For a winter bride, this category is a definite necessity. For all others, this can be another fun accessories category, showing off your style. Outwear can run the gamut from belts and sashes to capes, wraps (shawls) and jackets. And don’t forget bridal gloves!
You could have fun with the material too, especially if you’re considering a jacket — think: denim, leather or faux-fur. Or for a shawl or wrap you may want something sparkly that has a little extra beading or bling.
Pro Tip: If you opt for a jacket, get it personalized (embroidered or such) with your new married name.

If you’re a fan of regal-inspired weddings or even vintage looks (we’re calling out you fellow Bridgerton fans 😉), then this floor-length lace cape is totally for you. Options include a chunky heel or wedge that you can rock all day, or something more glamorous and classic on your tootsies. You may even be enticed by the idea of pure comfort, opting for a pair of fancy, sparkly sandals or ballet flats.
Pro Tip: Don’t be afraid to change your shoes between the ceremony and reception. Start fabulous and end comfy! And you might consider getting soft slippers or flip flops that you can have personalized for your getting ready moment.

We love a *fabulous* pair of heels and these heels fit the bill. Sapphire blue (so they can be your something blue, duh). Rhinestone embellishments on the back of the heel (just like Bella Swan’s extraordinary heels from her wedding to Edward Cullen in Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Part 1). Cocktail. Evening. Just ‘cause. The design of this pointed toe heel is elegant, timeless, and classy.
