A Classic Wedding with a Mariachi Band that Created a Memorable Moment

This summer wedding at Lost Mission in Texas Hill Country was all things classic with a rustic charm for Cynthia and Alex. We simply cannot get enough of the details that were executed beautifully by the couple and their coordinator at Bluebonnet Events. And with equally beautiful imagery captured by Jillian Hogan Photography, you can see what we’re talking about!
But first we have to share a very sweet memory that the bride cherishes and shows the importance of selecting vendors who understand you as a couple, just as Cynthia and Alex did. It also strikes an emotional chord for us, as it will no doubt for you too. The bride’s favorite memory: “So many to choose from but probably the most special moment was a private serenade by our mariachi. Our mariachi was set to play only during cocktail hour for our guests. Alex and I had planned to get through our pictures with enough time to catch at least one song from our mariachi. As we were taking our pictures, our wedding coordinator could sense that I was torn between wanting to spend the time capturing these images that would last a lifetime and getting to experience our mariachi before they were scheduled to leave. We were taking pictures in the private garden of our venue when I had accepted that we likely wouldn't get to see our mariachi. However, we received the beautiful surprise of our mariachi entering the private garden with us and circling around us to privately serenade us. The most beautiful coincidence was that they sang my grandparents' favorite song — Si Quieres by Juan Gabriel. It was the most beautiful and intimate memory of our wedding,” Cynthia tells us. And that’s how a coordinator and photographer work together beautifully to ensure a couple’s dreams are fulfilled. Oh, and you can hear the beautiful song below. ;)
The goal was to capture a theme that embodied classic neutrals and greenery with a rustic charm, so the couple opted for a varied color palette that brought in emerald green, ivory, blush, dusty rose, and hints of gold.
Their wedding cake was tiered with more variety that stuck high marks and offered something delicious for everybody — red velvet with cream cheese, coconut cake with pineapple mango compote and coconut buttercream, strawberry cheesecake, and white velvet with blueberry and vanilla buttercream.
We asked if Cynthia had advice for other couples planning their wedding and she had four very good suggestions:
Oh, and by the way, Cynthia mentioned a wedding checklist. . . Well, we happen to fancy ours the best (and it’s FREE !). So if you’re in the market for an all-inclusive checklist, look no further. ;)
