A Romantic and Sweet Ice Cream Engagement Session
This springtime engagement session caught our attention because while it was traditional and formal, it was also fun and casual with a delicious twist — eating ice cream. And all of it was captured by the talented Kayleigh Ross Photography.
For Rachel and Zane it all started in college during an at-home Bible study (and with Zane’s knowing what (read: who) he wanted !). As Rachel explains it, “He never actually came up to introduce himself that first evening, but he knew he wanted to make a move! A couple weeks later, he found me on campus and asked if I would like to go on a double date with him and his best friend (who will be his best man). I was so shocked by his boldness to ask me on a date without even talking to me first!”
So during a double date, they went to dinner at a local BBQ restaurant, saw The Greatest Showman at the Rialto theatre, then went to get milkshakes to finish the night! And as Rachel put it: “The rest is history!”
On their eighteen month anniversary, Zane proposed under a gazebo at Wildwood Park for the Arts in Little Rock, AR.
Rachel tells us, “Zane knew I would want to be looking my best, so he told me that we were going to the symphony that evening to celebrate our anniversary. He even went as far as photoshopping tickets and sending them to me a few days prior — so I wouldn't get suspicious. The tickets even had a QR code on them that, if scanned, popped up with the message, ‘Congratulations on your engagement!’ He knew I wouldn't scan them before hand, he just wanted to surprise me with that hidden detail after it had happened.
“On our way to the ‘symphony’ he asked if I wanted to stop and go on a walk through a park that we love to go to together. As soon as we got halfway to the gazebo, he started talking about our journey together and how much he truly loved me. That is when it hit me that I was getting engaged and the tears started flowing! Once we made it to the gazebo, he had decorated it with white flower petals and candles. He even had a photographer and a videographer hiding in the bushes to capture it all!
“After taking a few moments to ourselves, I was surprised again with a huge engagement party with our family and closest friends!”
So now these soon-to-be-weds, who love traveling, spending time outdoors, and taking pictures, have great memories from their proposal, engagement party, and now engagement shoot at the Loblolly Creamery and The Clinton Library.
And when Kayleigh isn’t around to capture it all, Rachel says, Zane is a great photographer/videographer and always captures their memories so well! And with their October wedding at Legacy Acres in Conway, we’re sure there will be plenty of new memories that Zane will get to record.
OH! And if you’re curious about the wedding planning, Rachel explains her favorite part so far has been incorporating all of their favorite things and making their day unique to them! “Even though a lot of our wedding will be very traditional, we will incorporate many non-traditional elements that will make it so special to us!”
