A Summer Wedding with Winery Vibes that’s Anything but Rustic at Concannon Vineyard

Swedish Princess Cake, a trolley, and a mauve color scheme, what could be better than all that? Big time winery vibes, of course! And this summertime wedding had it all, and it was magnificently captured by A Tale Ahead Photography. Go ahead and see for yourself.

The flowers were a beautiful blend of white peonies, blush garden roses, white ranunculas, clovers, and Italian ruscus with eucalyptus.

We mentioned the Swedish Princess Cake (Prinsesstårta), but the couple had the cutest story, we just had to share it: It’s their favorite cake. It used to be the groom’s, but it quickly became the bride’s too. They fought over who got it on their birthday since their birthdays are only a month apart, so the decision was clear — it became their wedding cake instead.
They also offered a dessert table of donuts, cookies, and cupcakes.
The bride walked down the aisle to The Piano Guys’ version of the Jurassic Park theme song. And they shared a first dance to You & I (Nobody in the World) by John Legend.
Some of the bride’s favorite memories from the day are:
“Walking down the aisle to the Jurassic Park theme song and seeing my groom laughing would be one of them.
“My dad chose two songs for our father-daughter dance, and the second was Sweet Child of Mine by Guns and Roses and we asked everyone on to the dance floor, and I convinced him to do his ‘famous’ air guitar.”
And last but not least, “Our after party at the hotel! My parents ordered a bunch of pizza, and a bunch of us hung out at the hotel bar, ate pizza, and kept the party going!”
And as for advice, the bride’s got plenty words of wisdom for future couples.
1. “Without a doubt get a wedding coordinator, and then work with them for referrals to other vendors. We found a majority of our vendors via our coordinator, and it made everything so much easier since they knew each other.”
2. “If you are a bit tight on budget, reuse your bridesmaids bouquets as centerpieces! I did this, and then used lanterns for the tables that did not have flowers and it worked so well and saved lots of $$$.”
3. “Do an after party if your venue time ends at 10 or 10:30! We didn't pay any money for ours (aside for some pizza my dad ordered). We just went back to the hotel bar, and hung out with everyone. There were probably about 50 of us, and it was a blast.”
4. “GO ON YOUR HONEYMOON! We left the next day, and it was a bit overwhelming but so worth it. I know so many people who delay it, and then do not go at all. Live it up and make those memories together. We went to French Polynesia (including Bora Bora) and it was amazing.”
