Audrey Hepburn Inspired Hair and Makeup for an Old Hollywood Wedding D – Wedding Day Match

Audrey Hepburn Inspired Hair and Makeup for an Old Hollywood Wedding Day Look

Deciding on a look for your wedding day is so important. Your look has to vibe with your wedding theme and your innate style. Working with a professional hair and makeup artist certainly can help you achieve the look you’re going for. But what if you need a little bit of inspiration? This week we’ve got plenty of Old Hollywood inspo if that’s your thing. Today, in particular, we’ve got Audrey Hepburn-inspired hair and makeup. Growing up in what we call today the Old Hollywood era, Audrey Hepburn knew a thing or two about style. She had a flair that was all her own. She was, in a word — elegant. So it’d be no surprise if you want a look inspired by the icon herself for your wedding day. To dish on all the best advice, we got with Alayne Curtiss, founder of Make Me Fab Salon & Spa in New York who was actually part of a creative team that put together an Audrey Hepburn inspired photo shoot.

Hair

Hepburn is most associated with the infamous Breakfast at Tiffany’s, so it’s little wonder if you want hair reminiscent of her’s from the classic movie. Curtiss tells us that for this shoot, they were also going for that look and to get it they actually studied images and videos of the actress for over a year to prepare! For this, she recommends a high French twist. And for the Hepburn-styled bangs, Curtiss tells us that she incorporated two sets of clip-in bangs for a fuller bang with a more modern length.

Makeup

While wanting to capture Hepburn’s makeup, Curtiss suggests that you might want a modern timeless feel, as she did for this shoot. “To recreate Hepburn’s makeup [she] practiced and tested the eye brows a bunch of times to get the shape and strength accurate. Getting the winged eyeliner just right was accomplished with [a product from Curtiss’ own line] — Insanely Waterproof Felt Tip Eyeliner, which gives a true black patent leather finish and Baby Wispies by Ardell. Minimal liner was used under the bottom lash line with [her] matte shadow in Unforgettable (Satin Matte Powder Eyeshadow). All of the lip colors we chose were from our original Long Wear Lip Color Collection — Shimmer and Matte Longwear Lipcolor. We found that Hepburn wore classic warm reds and wine shades with a soft matte texture.”
