Classic Urban Meets City Vibes with this Engagement Shoot around Pittsburgh’s Strip District

It all started for this couple at the Pittsburgh Zoo followed by a lovely dinner at Shiloh Grill on Mt. Washington and now here they are ready to tie the knot. This springtime engagement shoot with Mariah Treiber Photography around Pittsburgh’s Strip District embodied the classic urban with city vibes the couple was going for.
When asked how they first met, the soon-to-be-bride tells us it was a very modern high school meeting involving a bus stop and later social media. They first met at the public bus stop after school one day, having come from different schools. They had mutual friends so conversation came easy. Then, as she says, “One day [he] tweeted a picture of something he drew and I slid in his DMs and told him he should draw me something. He did and the rest is history!”

Of course, with a beginning as fun as that, we had to know about the surprise engagement, and we can assure you it doesn’t disappoint, so let’s journey back with the bride-to-be together.
“[He] had plans to take me out to a nice dinner in Mt. Washington on Friday, September 10th but earlier in the week I told him that I didn't want to go and he had to cancel those plans. He came up with other plans to do just a casual dinner date and again I said I didn’t feel like doing that either because I would be at work late Friday. He finally got me to agree to do takeout from Shiloh Gastro (previously Shiloh Grill) and we would take the food back to my parents. . . . I told him to go pick up the food by himself and to meet me at my parents but he insisted that I go with him (don't know how I didn’t figure it out at this point). Once we got up to Mt. Washington, I still didn’t even want to get out of the car to go to the overlook because it was a little chilly outside lol but he got me out onto the overlook and it worked perfectly, everyone else cleared away from the spot and we were alone overlooking the city. He got down on one knee and I said ‘DON’T’ but he did and it took me a few long seconds — I was trying to remember the lyrics from Paradise by the Dashboard Light by Meatloaf ‘let me sleep on it, I'll give you an answer in the morning’ (I always told him one day when he proposed I would say that as a joke) — but I said yes finally!”
We warned you — fun (and adorable)!
They plan on marrying early 2023 at the PPG Wintergarden. So far, they’ve loved the cake tasting most of all because they love sweets. Of course, so do we, both the edible kind and the heartwarming kind, so we cannot wait to see what they do for their wedding day!
