Positano Elopement Inspiration on Italy’s Amalfi Coast with Stylish Attire

Destination weddings and events have become increasingly popular in recent years. There are many beautiful spots around the globe that appeal to couples as they plan their wedding, and there is nothing more beautiful (or romantic !) than Italy’s Amalfi Coast. With the incredible cliff sides, teal water, and a town that looks like it’s from a fairytale, photographer Ruth Terrero knew it was the perfect location for a styled elopement featuring a real life couple. Indeed, intimate travel elopements, specifically, are wildly popular with couples who love to see the world and want something unique for their wedding celebration. It’s also a chance for them to make yet another memorable journey together before or after the bigger party back home. So when Terrero and the couple began dreaming up this Positano elopement inspiration, they ran with the idea of a romantic summer celebration on and along the water and the results were simply stunning.
The bride and groom celebrated their elopement on a private boat floating along the coastline. It was a romantic spot to show off their stunning wedding attire. The bride wore an off-the-shoulder fitted mermaid gown with a beautiful lace overlay. With a corset bodice and long train, it was a stunning option for this intimate and stylish Italian elopement. The train moved beautifully when she walked along the sand for their portraits! In fact, Terrero notes it was one of her favorite parts of the dress to photograph. Meanwhile, the groom wore a classic white tux with black lapels and details that popped against the tan buildings on the cliffs of the coastline. Both of them looked absolutely stunning and chic.
For an elevated elopement experience, they also had a sunset cruise for the couple to enjoy the view, the wind, and the shimmering sunlight on the surface of the water. After spending some time sailing around the coast, they headed back to Positano Beach for their final portraits of the night. The bride carried her all-white bouquet with roses, giggling among the bright blue and white umbrellas. Her groom joined her as they strolled down the line of umbrellas back toward the hotel. Terrero tells us, “These unique umbrellas presented a fun option for portraits, showing off the resort and beachfront of Positano. It was fun to play up the summer elements of the coast including the stunning sunset and the warm beach!”
