The Versailles Collection from Atelier Pronovias is a Return to Haute Couture for Bridal Gowns
Atelier Pronovias, the high-end, luxury brand of Pronovias Group, channels the magic of Versailles, the birthplace of haute couture. The Versailles Collection unfolds with astonishing gowns inspired by the love of luxury and opulence of the most famous royal court. The latest collection for 2023 boasts 36 stunning dresses a beautiful blend of fashion, drama, and history.
“The gowns worn at Versailles have come to define luxury and beauty,” declares Alessandra Rinaudo, artistic director of Pronovias Group. “This unique collection is a modern interpretation of one of the most lavish chapters in the history of fashion.”
Using Versailles’ legendary “Hall of Mirrors” and the royal symbol of the “fleur-de-lis” as starting points, Rinaudo designed the dresses in dazzling Italian fabrics, French lacework, and handworked beading and embroidery reminiscent of the period but updated with modern fashion and sartorial innovations.
New bell and column-shaped silhouettes support macro-length trains and cascades of ruffles, while high necklines, volume-enhanced shoulders and puffed, statement sleeves hail in the type of drama and regal formality brides have been longing for. “The Versailles collection stands out for its luxurious materials, refined craftsmanship and newness in design,” summarizes Rinaudo, adding that lighter weights and technical inner constructions free the bride of the formal constraints of traditional haute couture bridal.
Cases in point include Etienette, a mermaid gown in the finest quality all-over lace. For this style, Rinaudo designed a detachable cathedral train and transparent, swan-necked “body” that instantly transforms the gown into a strapless party-ready look.
Marquise reinterprets the famous square necklines of the period in clean eco crepe and elongated, button-up sleeves finished with detachable lace cuffs.
And Cheret is pure glamor with a deep scalloped guipure neckline finishing in intense, jewel-like beadwork that sculpts the upper body.
Although each and every dress in Atelier Pronovias collections are made to measure in the company’s workshop in Barcelona, the Versailles Collection presents even more personalization opportunities for the bride. From an array of neck and backlines, sleeve styles and lengths, and fabric, train and skirt choices, the bride can, if she chooses, have an active role in the final look of her dress. Together, with Atelier Pronovias personalized fit and fitting, these gowns represent a true haute couture experience for the bride; and is kept up-to-date with the progress of its creation and has a range of tailor-made options available to make the dress totally unique and personalized.
In addition, and in-line with Pronovias Group’s inclusivity policy that applies to all its brands, all gowns in the collection are available in a size range of 32 to 64 (US 0 to 32), and six gowns have been designed under the company’s We Do Eco criteria of sustainable fabrics, laces and trims.
