Vintage Meets Modern at this Wedding Weekend at Our Plaace on the Oregon Coast

When it comes to timeless, vintage energy, there’s one icon I always think of — Audrey Hepburn, duh! Truly, when considering my own style and the fashion I want to don, her and Marilyn Monroe are never far from my thoughts. There’s a reason apparel that was popular when your mother was your age is coming back in style. But there’s a blend of vintage and modern that has to happen, and Taylor Stuck with Taylor Stuck Photography nailed it, to say the least.
“I fully designed this project from a vision that I had for quite some time! I wanted to create something that blended vintage elements, with the modern, timeless, classic, bridal aesthetic. I've always loved a short satin dress paired with a long veil and knew the perfect touch to the look was to add the 1920's cat-eye sunglasses to blend in the vintage vibe in a fresh classic way,” Stuck explains.
Love their looks? Me, too! It’s exactly what Stuck was going for — vintage meets modern. What made it even better and only added to the overall style was that the bride Carlie and the groom Miguel were cohesive in their looks. The classic black suit paired with sunglasses is *chef’s kiss*.
Stuck also notes that she “knew that this shoot specifically had to be shot in the evening on flash to really play into the vintage energy she wanted!”
The cake was also in keeping with the aesthetic, selecting an all white cake for that modern look while going with vintage piping and maraschino cherries for that vintage feel. Stuck adds, “Our incredible, creative, and artful florist provided modern colorful botanical florals to balance the modern touches!”
Overall, I’d say this styled shoot was a success and if you, too, are looking to combine modern style with vintage feels, then this is a perfect representation of that. Stuck describes it as “the perfect way to showcase how couples can get married and have an entire wedding weekend experience that's intimate and unique.”
“Aside from all the above being the style inspiration, my ultimate goal was to showcase to future couples a modern way to get married at the famous Oregon coast! I knew the perfect venue was going to be Our Plaace in Neskowin, Oregon!” Stuck says.
And I don’t know about y’all, but all I want to do now is go shopping for a little white satin dress.
