12 Wedding Dessert Bar Ideas and Tips on Styling Your Bar

It’s no secret, wedding cakes are not for everybody. Sometimes couples just want something unique or different — be it an ice cream bar, like Kayla and Jon at their wedding, or a dessert bar like others before them. As an extra special treat, today we have advice on dessert bar ideas from Bailey Rowland of Florida’s Crème de la Cocoa.
Dessert Bar Ideas
Rowland has a complete list of dessert bar ideas and we love how many of them are individual treats thanks to their mini size. Take a look:
- French Macarons
- Chocolate Truffles
- Mini Cookie Sandwiches
- Dessert Shots
- Finger Brownies
- Mini Cannoli
- Small Cookies
- Multiple Cakes
- Mini Tarts
- Mini Pies
- Italian Rainbow Cookies
- Cake Pops
Rowland also notes that, while not common, they have on occasion recreated family recipes, so truly the sky is the limit when it comes to deciding on what to fill your dessert station with at your wedding.
She also points on out that from this list of ideas, “dessert shots are the most requested item, but they are very versatile and we can create any composed dessert in these.”
Styling the Dessert Bar
Left to the hands of the master bakers, most times, the dessert tables will be set-up with their creative eye. Rowland explains, “Sometimes the planners will have two tables, one for the small desserts and one for the wedding cake,” but it all depends on the order and what the couple is looking for. Rowland also notes they love styling the table with varying heights and different types of desserts always stand out.
