A Divine Opera-inspired Wedding Dress Collection by WONÁ Concept: Notte d’Opera Couture Collection 2023
The English translation of this quote from Otello, the four-act Italian opera based on William Shakespeare's play Othello, is that it’s all the fault of the moon, when it gets too close to the earth it drives everyone crazy. Well, be ready to be driven crazy by WONÁ Concept’s Notte d’Opera Couture Collection 2023.
WONÁ’s Founder Ilona Shramko sees the two wonders of the world the luminaries and the opera, genuinely majestic and immortal. According to the brand, these wonders touch the soul's strings, bring on tears and admiration, and make you feel the most profound emotions. It’s only natural then that their latest collection is inspired by the divine essence in these wonders — thus WONÁ introduces the Notte d'Opera Couture Collection 2023. The collection features 22 stunning dresses 12 ballgowns, seven mermaid-styled and four A-line silhouettes.
Shramko says, “During my travels to New York, I had an exceptional opportunity to visit The Metropolitan Opera. As I watched Otello, I was amazed by the power of voice and how deeply it touched my heart. The very moment I realised it resembled the feeling when the bride does first look, and the groom sees her for the first time in her perfect wedding dress. Hence, we decided to dedicate WONÁ bridal couture collection to opera.”
The sparkly embellishments resemble the stars and the moon, shining on the brightest night, the magnificent ball skirts embody the majesty of opera, and its combination is concealed in details.
Prevailingly, the textiles are stiff taffeta, satin and embroidered lace, and several pieces are decorated with lightweight tulle. The detachable overskirts and boleros enrich the mermaid styles with added layers. The decorations allow the viewer to explore the details of patterned lace, eclectic ruffle layers, draping and extensively puffed sleeves. All ballgown styles are advised to wear with a hoop petticoat for extra lushness.
