A Springtime Wedding at Gramercy Mansion Comprised of Pinks and Blues

This springtime wedding at Gramercy Mansion went for a warm spring style and had it all — including the notorious intermittent spring showers. And the talented Amanda MacPhee of Amanda MacPhee Studios was there to capture it all! The couple selected a color palette comprised of coral pink and a powdery blue, without realizing it they selected their favorite colors, but softened them. In keeping with the color scheme, they had peonies, blue delphinium and both spray and regular roses.
“I always thought the coral would be beautiful, but the blue came in to complement it so nicely. Our engagement shoot also was not planned to have our wedding colors but we must have subconsciously known they would look good together when we picked our outfits! When I spoke to the florist about the coral peony, I was so excited to learn about the blue delphinium and how stunning it looked in the bouquets and arrangements. We loved the beautiful spring colors of our wedding!” the bride shares.
The two-tiered wedding cake featured lush raspberry amaretto and chocolate red velvet — a true feast for guests. And if that wasn’t enough, the couple also had an ice cream bar with toppings.
The couple exchanged gifts — the bride giving her groom an embroidered handkerchief and the groom giving to his bride a rose gold bracelet. It was a day full of sweet moments. And among them all, the bride remembers her favorite moment from the day most — “Seeing my husband’s face as I walked down the aisle and us both crying.”
And Photographer Amanda MacPhee couldn’t agree more. In her words, they were “probably one of the most adorable couples I have ever gotten to spend time with. . . . These two were glowing all on their own with all the happiness from this day! I mean, just look at that groom!”
This wedding had a lot of DIY elements, by choice as the bride is very crafty. She worked on the table decor and centerpieces herself. And along with her groom, she made their wedding arch (staining it and all !) and a few signs.
Advice from the bride: “Make sure you communicate clearly about what each other wants and dreams are for the wedding and the rest will follow, no matter what everyone else may say or try to convince you to change!”
