This Stylish New York City Wedding is the *Very* Definition of Timeless
Everything about Maria and Vito’s October wedding exuded grandeur. Just look at the New York City flair it had with the iconic skyline serving as a breathtaking backdrop to their beautiful celebration! It only made sense for their style to be intimate and timeless, as Maria explained it. And without spoiling anything, I’m just going to say two words — classic car! *wink*
Their color palette was the ever-timeless shades of white, cream and gold. White dominated the flowers with mostly roses being utilized in the floral designs.
And for their wedding cake, Maria and Vito went with strawberry and cream four-tier dream with vintage piping. It sat beside a mouthwatering dessert table with traditional Italian desserts — mini cannolis and sfogliatella (think lobster tails).
Fashion + Beauty
Maria allowed her bridesmaids to pick their own bridesmaid dresses, putting all her attention into finding her own wedding gown. She went to Bridal Atelier Montclair to find the one, telling us it was the only shop she went to. “I wanted an intimate shopping experience, looking for a timeless shape with a vintage nod.” In the end, she wore Anne Barge, style Newport.
For her hair and makeup, Maria opted to do it herself. “I wanted to look like myself. I had did many makeup trials, but felt very uncomfortable in all of the makeup. At the end, I decided to do my own makeup with some help from my mother. My mother [also] did my hair on my wedding day, it was really special,” she shares. The result, a natural and beautiful bride with remarkable memories!
Oh, and we can’t forget mentioning that stunning headband covered in bling — so classic and yet so in right now.
Ceremony + Reception
Maria’s favorite memory comes from their wedding reception where she walked down the aisle to the classic wedding march. She notes she loved walking down the aisle with her father, looking at her soon-to-be husband.
Following Maria and Vito’s ceremony, they shared a first dance to The Righteous Brothers Unchained Melody.
From Maria with Love
After a wedding as elegant and timeless as theirs, Maria has some advice for other couples… “Follow [your] gut and trust [your] instincts in planning.” Indeed, it seemed to have worked out exceptionally well for her and Vito!
