Wedding Planner Abbey Nims Shares Her Planning Journey: Creating a Wedding Website
By Abbey Nims
This week we are talking about wedding websites. I SWEAR by a good wedding website.
You may be thinking: I need a website now?! Let me tell you, this is going to do nothing but make your life easier. Anything that you need to communicate with your guests, you can just add it to your wedding website. Dress code, venues address, welcome dinner details, you can even have a FAQ page if you really want to.
So where do you go to create your wedding website? There are lots of different places you can host your site, like The Knot, Joy, Zola, Minted, just to name a few. I even came across one recently called Bliss & Bone, advertising modern wedding websites that include digital invitations. COOL!
As for Jeremy and I, we decided to go with Joy because they offer zero-fee cash gifts.
Jeremy and I have already lived together for 5 years, so we really don’t need much as far as home things. But we really love traveling! We got back from Japan in February and I literally cannot wait to go back. So this was a great way for us to, not only connect with our guests, but also raise money for our honeymoon and future home repairs.
If you are still on the fence about wedding websites, here are some ideas to convince you.
- You can track your RSVPs in real time.
- You can add a QR code or link to your invitation, and all people have to do is scan the QR or type in the link and BOOM! RSVP DONE!
- Planning on having a smaller ceremony or have a significant amount of people that can't make the trip? Add your live stream link to your website so everyone can access it easily!
- Most websites also keep track of your registries for you. Some even allow you to set up a questionnaire so you can ask about food allergies or song requests.
Before I leave you, I wanna circle back to my favorite topic. YOUR WEDDING. Do a little research and find out what is going to work for you and your wedding. Or better yet, have a planner do it! Even me! Never underestimate what your planner may be willing to do for you.
That is all for today friends!
