A Romantic Sandy Beach Proposal turned Picture-Perfect Engagement – Wedding Day Match

A Romantic Sandy Beach Proposal turned Picture-Perfect Engagement

It started as a beach proposal that she never saw coming (and actually thought was a romantic moment planned for someone else)…

Fast forward, Kayla and Shaun are engaged and their engagement photos say it all. Thanks to Solo Mio Photography these picture-perfect moments were captured for the couple.

About the proposal… Our proposal on a beach that has been our favorite spot to go to for sunsets and beach days. Shaun completely surprised me and did such a good job at coordinating everything without me ever knowing. My family was in town that week as we were doing an early Christmas all together. On the day of the proposal I was trying to get everyone to go out boating, but Shaun kept telling me he would rather beach it, so I was trying to coordinate with my family, but they were being difficult and kept saying they would just meet up with us later. I figured Shaun and I would just go to the beach ourselves. I was driving and apparently passed my brother on the side of the road, but somehow Shaun managed to distract me and I never even noticed. I parked right next to him, but again didn’t notice anything. As we walked out to the beach I walked right up to a rose petal heart made in the sand. Shaun stopped and my first reaction was “we can’t sit here… someone is obviously planning something”. I started to walk further down and he grabbed my hand and told me to take off my beach chair backpack… I instantly started shaking and crying. As he dropped to his knees, so did I. I was in such shock, I don’t even think I said yes at first. Then a flood of friends and family came running out of the dunes cheering and popping champagne. I was so speechless. We celebrated on the beach then afterwards with a big dinner and drinks and dancing at our favorite beach bar. It was perfect. Just that I would have planned it if I planned it myself.

Fun turn of events is the couple is now actually married and their wedding was a beautiful beach chic wedding. The color scheme was neutral colors with subtle pops of pale teal and coral. And the rain, well, the rain was unplanned, but when it came time for her to walk down the aisle there was no rain in sight.
