A Romantic Wedding Where the Bride Wore Eve of Milady and Had a Victoria’s Secret Model-on-Vacation Look

This autumn wedding was a pure timeless beauty, a style the bride, Ali, was going for (and achieved). Other words she uses to describe her style are romantic, dreamy, fairytale, and soft yet impactful. Vibes that her planner from Melanie Paige Events and Design picked up on and implemented to perfection as you’ll see in the stunning photographs taken by 28 North Photography.
The Details
The color palette consisted of greens and white (as seen in the flowers) with pops of pastel pinks and purples (details that touched the signage and napkins).
Now, about those flowers . . . they included a mix of David Austin white roses, white hydrangeas, Lisianthus white, nagi foliage, rose la playa blanca, roses ivory la playa, ruscus-Italian, salal tips, ranunculus white, and snapdragons.

For their dessert, Ali and Jake both work in medicine so they have an innate espresso addiction — thus the only choice for them was, of course, a tiramisu cake.
To say it was all mom-approved might be an understatement.
The Fashion
Wedding Dress
Going into her wedding dress shopping, Ali knew she wanted a long sleeve dress, but was hesitant on the ballgown style. “After trying on THE dress, I realized it was perfect. After all, every bride gets one day — so do it up!” she says. The result: Eve of Milady, style 361.
“The Eve of Milady team found the perfect balance between the simplicity of a timeless dress and the dazzling details of a fairytale-style dress. This is exactly what I was looking for. The sophisticated long sleeves were a nice contrast to the flattering sweetheart necklace.”
Bridesmaid Dresses
Ali tells us she was looking for bridesmaid dresses that “everyBODY felt confident in” because she had the most supportive bridesmaids with beautiful bodies of all sizes. So of course, Ali landed on Azazie, where she narrowed it down to two and put it to a vote. The result: stunning pastel pink numbers.
“Also, affordability was the next biggest factor. I gave my bridesmaids a year to get the dress, many of the bridesmaid got their dresses for under $50 because of either a sample sale or Black Friday! Notably, Azzazie does free alterations!”
P.S. We happen to LOVE Azazie too (#Azazieaffiliate), for the very same reasons — beauty is never compromised and you get so much. ;)

The Beauty
If you loved Ali’s look, then of course you’ll want all the details on what she asked for from her HMUA. Let’s just say it’s great and it’s a look we want to channel Every. Single. Day.
Makeup
“I was hoping to achieve a sweetheart, blushing bride look. I believe I told my stylist an ‘Victoria’s Secret model on vacation.’ [Told you it was great !] I wanted a strong cheekbone to offset my more square-face. Dramatic makeup is gorgeous, but can be very trendy (unless it’s Taylor Swift in her signature red lipstick).”
Hair
“I wanted my hair down so I could feel it brush against my back when I danced. Also, so I could have different types of photos.”
The Music
For a little musical inspiration, we can say that Ali walked down the aisle to the timeless selection of Here Comes the Bride played on violin by Classern Quartet.
And for their first dance, they picked it right away after finding a great song that blended both Jake and Ali’s tastes. “My husband has always loved NeedToBreathe and I grew up with Carrie Underwood. We wanted a song that would encapsulate all the emotions we felt that day. We chose I Wanna Remember by NeedToBreathe (feat Carrie Underwood). Seriously, listen to the song! It is so underrated and completely perfect for a wedding day.”
Favorite Memory
It’s always fun to hear what the couples say their favorite memory is from their wedding day when they look back. And there is usually one moment that wins by a landslide for every couple — the first look.
For Ali and Jake it’s no different. See for yourself what Ali says about her favorite wedding day memory:
“Definitely, the first look. We were unsure if it would take away from the day having a private first look as opposed to the more traditional, down the aisle look. It was absolutely the right decision. It was such a special, private moment between us. We were able to reach out and hold each other while we both cried, just bursting with happiness and love and anticipation. I will always cherish that moment. I am so thankful that I was able to spend my wedding day with my Number 1 that much sooner.”
P.S. No one asked ask us, but we totally loved watching all the dancing at the wedding reception. It’s always nice to see when the wedding guests are having as much fun as the newlyweds. And that’s likely because, as Ali put it, their DJ (Kristine) exceeded their expectations and “knows how to read the crowd!”
From Ali with Love
For future couples, my advice is: Don’t get lost in trying to greet and say hello to everyone. Jake and I had a rule that we held each other’s hand the whole time so we didn’t get separated and miss our own wedding!
