What Makes Keith Erickson Entertainment Unique
They challenge their clients to be as unique and creative as possible. They aren’t looking to work events that are cookie-cutter. As Erickson tells us, “Clients can be as hands-on or -off with the music curation as they’d like. We can MC events traditionally, or suggest a variety of modern twists. If you’d prefer us to be off-the-mic except when needed, that’s no problem.”
More so, they are comfortable being interactive MCs, running games and activities. They also offer live musicians for a ceremony or cocktail hour. Erickson tells us, he loves his job and meeting new people, helping them create and execute one of the most important days of their lives. “Usually meetings with clients tends to feel like chatting with old friends and when I show up to an event everyone is decked out, looking suave and smiling. Everyone is ready to celebrate love and my job is to make sure the program runs smoothly and with class and elegance. How Keith Erickson Entertainment Got Started
As a child Erickson was drawn to the piano and drums, and with a passion for music, he earned his B.A. in music before moving across the country to Los Angeles, California to pursue a career as a drummer. He started out in bands, backing various singer-songwriters, and teaching drums. Noticing the wedding and event industry was a place he could supplement his income and fulfill his passion, he connected with event DJs — Mark “Peace” Thomas and Bruce Barrios to name a couple.
Eventually, Erickson worked at the Wedgewood Banquet Hall in Ventura, CA. where, as he says, “I cut my teeth and gained a ton of experience. Eventually I grew out of the role for higher-budget clients.” This experience gave Erickson the confidence and know-how to start his own company — Keith Erickson Entertainment, where he is a full-time DJ/MC.
