This Modern Wedding with Rustic and Boho Vibes Had a Dessert Bar Like No Other

Boho Chic Wedding

There’s nothing quite like a June wedding, and this one did not disappoint! McKenna and Alex made plenty of memories, but their favorite part of the day was the cake cutting and ceremony exit.

Going for a modern style with rustic touches for a hint of the ever-popular boho vibes with greenery, McKenna favored a blue and green color palette. Specifically, a deep sea color and dusty blue with cream and mauve. (And in case you didn’t know blues and greens are SO in right now !)

“I trusted the florist and let her decide [for my wedding flowers]. Some roses, greenery and peonies,” the bride tells us.

Now, let’s talk the cake… it was their favorite memory, after all. It was a two-tier dream with a hand-spun design, and it was absolutely stunning. They also had lots of mini desserts like cupcakes, tartlets, mini dessert shooters, and dessert bars.

Fashion + Beauty

FASHION

For McKenna, picking a wedding dress meant something that fit her personality and style. “I wasn’t sure what I was looking for but when I put my Essense of Australia dress on I knew it was the one,” she explains. The best part? It needed few alterations, she says.

For the specific style, McKenna wore the designer’s “D3249 with lace trim around bodice from D3324.”

BEAUTY

In keeping with the trend for the year, McKenna chose the soft glam look for her makeup. Her hair even had soft glam vibes with a simple half up half down style with curls.

Ceremony + Reception

The wedding always goes by so quickly, and that rung true for a McKenna and Alex, who remind other couples to: “Enjoy your wedding day as it goes by so fast!!!”

So once the wedding starts, things move fast, especially when you have great music, as they did. And it all started with McKenna walking down the aisle to I Get to Love You by Ruelle.

Then at the reception, the newlyweds entered to Congratulations by Post Malone. They shared a first dance to the acoustic version of Dan + Shay’s You.
